QUOTE(eujinee @ Feb 15 2009, 04:12 PM) lets say im in different parts of the states everyday.... In Australia there's actually a small cult following for the Satria GTi. im sure there is alot potential on this CPS engine.....lets look forward and stop condemn ur own country product..... In a race there, the cars are to be in showroom trim, and The GTi clearly beat the other contendors in its class, sometimes even battling it out in the corners with V6s! This Neo CPS will have a great potential in its class. |

AWD isn't necessary. It'll only add unnecessary complexity and weight for an engine that produces only 200+ hp at best. Even Citroen made do with FWD with their 300hp rally car. The only thing needed is clever weight reduction and chassis setup.

Lots of things can be done, like taking out the carpet, lighter sound system(or strip it altogether), lighter materials for seat construction and steering wheel and dashboard and stuff.

I think it's the feeling that Proton actually is "trying" now.
On a serious note, this car aint bad. Better specification(performance wise) for about the same price(?) comapred to the Swift. Sorry, not to refer to you ridox, it's just that I think it's the closest competitor to the Neo. This post has been edited by tunertoobe: Feb 18 2009, 12:23 PM |

QUOTE(ridox_orimabu @ Feb 18 2009, 12:41 PM) haha chill lah Haha, forgot to put that into account. Spec wise, excluding the price, these two I thought were the closest. Power to weight ratio tells a different story with the Neo having a minor edge. Maybe the gearing didn't do the Neo justice? The torque curve for the old Neo was not that good.anyway, the neo cps performance is slightly better..it did mention 0-100 in 10.5 sec rite? the swift did the same..i say its better coz the swift 1.5 only offers auto. now the only thing that matters is the handling. i test drive neo only once, the handling is damn good already. i dun know how much better is this Neo Cps. but bear in mind, its heavier. almost 200kg more heavy compare to swift. the old neo is comparable to swift when it comes to handling..but the Neo CPS, i think it would be a much more godlike handling. but anyway, auto neo cost 60k, while auto swift cost 75k now. haha very big in difference. not sure if its the closest competitor here. Played around with the old Neo before, well can't compare to any cars except for a few Protons so can't really say but it is good compared to any other cars I've tested. mockv1per, my BMI is 16, putting me in the car classifies as a stage 2 weight reduction?
