If I can ONLY afford to choose 1 phone from either pl11 or pl20 (due to budget). I will go for pl11, because pl11 is able to play all types of music and voice while pl20 is not suitable to play music with base.

Yes, got your point... pl20 clearly wins in clarity, treble and pl11 win in bass, but pl11 clarity and treble is not bad either so it depends on what type of sound you listen to... i own both of them and just using pl11 more often... listening to music, podcast and audiobooks. Maybe more burning will make a different to them...

I find that to happen quite abit with some brands of IEMs (especially those with generally lower QC, not pointing out names, but generally China made ones)

Try to request for an exchange if that happens. Swap the sleeve from right to left and see if its the sleeve causing problems or just the IEM's tip causing the problem. I believe the seller will allow an exchange if the IEM's causing the problem. smile.gif Do remember as IEMs extend into the ears, even the tiniest out-of-range built, if not detected during QC will already cause discomfort while wearing it.
*
Can exchange like that?
Can please comment @ http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1048903&hl=

Can please comment more on PK3 and PL11? Thanks.

QUOTE(Darkchaser @ Jun 20 2009, 06:45 AM)
Well, I don't have my Atrios yet, but I chose it based on a lot of feedback saying that it has good quality bass without sacrificing too much clarity unlike most bassy IEMs. I'm not too worried, because I already own two cheap earphones, the PK3 and PL-11 that has thumping bass and good clarity. Surely the USD200 Atrios can't sound any worse than both of them biggrin.gif

Well.....IMO

PK3 - Good amount of bass but lacking in clarity. I had to EQ Treble Booster to get a clearer sound. Frankly, the one and only time I've ever used Treble Boost. E5 amp doesn't do much, bass boost just muddies up the bass even more.

PL11 - Slightly less bass but much better clarity. Great synergy with E5 amp - bass boost on. A good overall IEM with better bass than average.
*
Wow... nicely compared. My E5 hiss when reaches 50% volumn ... but @ 50% cannot feel its power ... better dun amp ... dilemma.

Hey need helps here..

got any IEM suitable for basshead(song like Akon, Flo rida etc)?

budget below RM 100~

n i want it better than EP630 tongue.gif

Soundmagic PL11, JBL reference 220 or any other suggestions?
*
I like PL11 (~RM60) + E5 combo for the bass. I think JVC HA-FX33 (~RM50) Kramer Mod has good trebal and bass (excellent value).

Btw, I think basshead would not appreciate PL20.

Do u audit the others b4 like Soundmagic PL11, JBL reference 220, and Sony IEM?
n where to find that JVC HA-FX33? thanks
*
I have the PL11, JBL 220, and JVC FX33 (Kramer mod) but cannot say that audited them because I am not at that level. I hope to audit them and share the experience in the future. For now, I feel PL11 is not as good as the other two in term of bass (quality, not quantity) and treble but easier to drive with FiiO5. FX33 is selling at Carrefour, Jaya Jusco and of course Amazon etc.

Agree.but IMO,replace 830 for soundmagic pl-30,a bit more spending but better performance per value ratio.heard 830 got comfort issue smile.gif
*
Some also said that pl-30 is not the most comfortable... tongue.gif

IE8 is not under this “budget” topic, right? If one can stretch the budget, should consider SP1 instead.
Btw, are you letting go your extra 220s?

QUOTE(chingwooi @ Aug 23 2009, 03:52 AM)
Haha, to me the EP630 is no where near the JBL xD You need to change the ear tips given to get better seal, I'm using IE8 ear tips on it, it improves the seal a lot tongue.gif Also IF you like the JBL SQ, you'll definitely like Sennheiser IE8 smile.gif

Female?  hmm.gif

Does the 830 and PL-30 have the same SQ to be compared?
If one likes phone that emphasis on vocal and bass, can consider PL-11 which has no comfort issue, from some review, it is better than 630 in a way. Might refer to http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1111995&hl=

QUOTE(hoho1222 @ Aug 22 2009, 10:23 PM)
JBL reference 220?
When I first time listen, I was shock.. Why an IEM got wow effect sweat.gif  sweat.gif
vocal laid back, cant listen clearly..
After burn in abt 80 hours, that wow effect not so heavy.. vocal come front abit but still lose to EP 630
however, if compare wif detail and bass, EP 630 lose alot to JBL
N one more point, JBL is open type IEM so when i use on LRT, i still can hear some noise..  smile.gif  smile.gif
