Welcome to the Alpha family! laugh.gif

Pro1D is the higher spec filters from HOYA. They feature some coatings on the filter's glass to help cut flare and improve contrast. That's why it is more expensive. The HMC range is cheaper but is more susceptible to flare & ghosting. I would recommend you to go for the Pro1D version if you are willing to spend on filters. smile.gif

didn't realized that filter price went up a lot
last year saw the pro 1D going for around 80-90 for the 55mm diameter
now it's around 130

how about kenko, their product naming seems to follow Hoya

in addition, i found the B+W 010 UV filter selling for about 130 too
any idea how does it stand up to the Hoya Pro 1D?

hi all,
i notice that my lense gets dirty pretty fast, so not i'm looking for lense cleaning solutions
from my observation, lenspen seems to be a popular choice
however, while browsing at yamiya, i came across lense cleaning paper.
anyone tried this and any comments?
thanks.

don't so fast lah, just bought mine
as for the entry level flash, guess it would be something like F36 minus the wireless trigger function

better ask ppl who own the lens..not simply read what ppl said about the lens..for me, the IQ worth for its value.

bro, you make me wanna cry...i just got my slr like last month only...  cry.gif  cry.gif if the new image sensor is coming to those entry level dslr, i'll definitely kill myself...
*
you got yours last month, i got mine last week!
as for video function in a DSLR, i don't see much point for that

i would rather get a waterproof, shockproof compact that has video function
this would complement me on trips the best, from potrait, to landscape to underwater shoot or video, i have it all covered

Hi, im about to take a plunge and get the sony but not sure between the sonay a300 twin kit or a350 twin kit. I need some advice on this?

My primary aim is to take interior pictures of houses, condos etc but would also like to use it for exterior portrait, landscape and candid, based on cost/value which would be a better option ? would appreciate some help, altough i went thru 50 + pages i am more confused then ever? thks in advance
*
based on your usage, i would say that you would need wide lenses, particularly for interior shots
for this, unless budget is not an issue, i would recommend you getting the A300 single kit and put the extra money on a wide-angle lense

what say you all, sifus/masters/tok gurus?

unfortunatly budget is an issue, what would then be best pairing with either kit ?

1. A350 single kit with wide angle lens?
2. A300 single kit with wide angle lens?

or
3. A350 twin kit
4. A300 twin kit

from my experience of trying to shoot the interior of my house using a compact with a 28mm (in 35mm equivalent) lense, i had difficulty fitting in some shots into a single shot, particularly if the area is narrow
not the kit lense starts at 18mm, which translates into about 27-28mm in 35mm equivalent format. i've yet to try shooting the interior of my house but i expect the same problem

there is a solution to this which is to take a few separate shots of the area and have the stitched together using software

agree...1680....wow...

that'll be more expensive than a a300 single kit lah
don't scare ppl aware

i was thinking of suggesting the 16-105 SAL lense
the 16mm would give you a wider coverage though not being a UWA
with a reach of 105mm at the long end it should be sufficient for most situations

if you don't need LV, the a200+the 16105 would come up a little bit more that the a350 twin kit
if combine with the a300 single kit, it should still give you some spare for RM3500, with which it is recommended to get a good thin UV filter for the 16-105

update from my journey, my melaka shoot was not good but johor one look good on camera screen. No time to transfer into laptop. Will post some of them once I back to KL tomorrow .. smile.gif..

another alternative to try reduce camera shake is to use the timer release to release the shutter
this will help prevent shakes from pressing the shutter button
