Depends on ya need. If you need something which can give you the longer range but don't mind sacrificing the IQ, get the 2x. Else if you want slightly longer but better IQ, stay with 1.4x smile.gif

price range?

In short, Teleconverters are meant to give you longer range. Extension tubes are meant for macro purpose

wow...very informative...thx...i will take note of that...i wonder, since i got the minolta 50mm 1.7, if sony release a similar version, will it be priced around rm500+?? just worried my 50mm will suddenly lose value overnight...
*
don't worry, sony new lens would be 50mm f/1.8, not f/1.7..

aahhh.. not me la.. hazril... that the bad thing when molesting other lenses we dont owned..
actually.. my next lens would be UWA oso... then only i'll go for kittehlens replacement...
was thinking bout that 16105 laa..  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
i'm still undecided either to get an UWA or get a Tammy 1750 as kit lens replacement.. last time im more towards 1750, but since i already have a flash, been thinking to get a Siggy 1020 as i can explore n learn other style of photography with an UWA.. kit lens already a good lens, and with a flash, i believe it can do wonders.. what say others??

If you want to explore something new, go for Siggy 10-20mm f4-5.6 HSM. You'll to play with UWA + a little fishy effect.

On the other hand, if you want to get a lens which is good for walkaround + good low light performer, go for Tammy 17-50mm f2.8. Also, with 17-50mm f2.8, you can cover events and weddings easier due to the big aperture.

smile.gif
*
ya, i know.. i love Tammy's f/2.8, but i also want to explore sthg new with an UWA.. maybe i'll decide after i get my 50mm f/1.4.. if i can 'live' with the 50mm range for low light events, then i'll just go for Siggy 1020, as Tammy also go up until that range.. wider range most of the time can just use kit lens with flash.. if i really need a wider range with f/2.8, then only i'll get the Tammy 1750..

signither, very few ultra-wide angle lenses cannot use filters:

14mm lenses (all, as far as I know)
Nikkor 14-24mm F2.8
Sigma 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 EX DG
Tokina 10-17mm F3.5-4.5
*
thanks albert.. btw, can recommend me a filter for SAL-1118? is it worth to go all the way for B+W?? should i get the slim one or normal one will do? read that Tamron 1118 can use the normal one, so it must be the same with SAL 1118 right??
