Good movie. I don't believe why some might be bothered it's too high concept. it's really fairly easy, done in Nolan's way. don't worry, It's not too complex

QUOTE(QuickFire @ Jul 15 2010, 03:46 PM) Just watched it, and I must say, I was a bit underwhelmed. The first hour, where they introduced the dream world and the rules that govern it, is marvelous. It's only midway through the heist when things get really complex and you (well I anyway) struggled to keep up. I was trying to train my thought on one thing and the film just waltzes past and throws me another Thing That I have To Wrap My Brain Around. To be honest, I think it gets too complicated for its own good at times. Too much on-the-fly thinking does suck away the enjoyment, you know. And there is an emotional centre to it, but again, the reason it doesn't quite work out is because, at least partially, you can't feel the emotions when you're wrecking your brain thinking. In the end, I still have some big questions that need answering. It's either that or they're large plotholes. Probably the former. So I'll watch it again in a few days, and I won't really judge it before I do. there were 1 or 2 amongst us too felt a little underwhelmed. though i dont look it as a negative to the movie but i suppose the anticipation wheel ran a little faster in them. scot thru the movie in your mind again & my guess your review 'underwhelmed' might climb a few notch up again. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(robertngo @ Jul 19 2010, 10:53 AM) did you watch any of the other Di Caprio movie? Shutter Island, The Departed, Aviator, Body of Lies, Gangs of New York correct, DC is a good actor, just because he was chosen to act in ONE JAMES CAMERON's commercial blockbuster, he's is typecasted.he is not really type cast into the pretty boy lover role. more so just because he permanently born with a boyish looks, people prejudge him. (call it a curse but he is probably much better than most in AVATAR) certainly a laugh that some cant get it but nontheless, it's expected. its just like why so many love 'twilight' whereas there are those who love to hate it. |

QUOTE(ate @ Jul 19 2010, 04:38 PM) saito was looking for his rivals secret, which cillain murphy never had a peek off, how come he knew what was in the vault without going into it. If he did why didnt he tell cobb in the 1st place after getting his trust. err, did you watch 'inception'? sorry it was a jest. saito wasn't looking for fishers secret, (he already knew how cobb could enter into a subconsious mind & incept) & his (saito) intention was to incept an idea to fisher that he should break up his father's empire. in such in the corporate world at least saito can then compete against. fisher has not secret' secret 'vault'; the whole bloody movie sub-plot by cobb & gang was to incept an idea to fisher (to think 'breaking up' his father's empire would then be his father's dying wishes to see him be his own man) In fisher's reality world, he was a disappointment to his dying father. there are many sub stories/layers/plot that i know movie goers will just pay attention & one shouldn't lose focus. its not really hard to decipher the movie 'inception', well, some guys/gals just has 'science' subjects in school or even sci-fi stuffs. nolan did say it was "what if" we could push the creativity of inception into dreams. QUOTE(ate @ Jul 19 2010, 05:20 PM) pay attention what so little action only, matrix much better some of us 'understood' or should i say 'got it' on the first sitting. I dont & cant explain why some can & some did not. its actually not a wholly complicated movie. I half expected it to have 9/10 people not understanding it in the end. to watch it again for us (or me at least), it's to be 'entertained'. I cant spend another sitting on other (blockbuster movies) because its some mindless action pack 3D that wont tickle my sub conscious. i'm a dude who likes fight club, ocean' series, matrix, blade runner, 2001 space odessy blah blah blah. QUOTE(ate @ Jul 19 2010, 05:27 PM) ahhyou must be one of those anti-Di Crap io (even before movie sitting for inception) This post has been edited by koolspyda: Jul 19 2010, 04:42 PM |

QUOTE(Kyoyagami @ Jul 21 2010, 12:44 PM) I find it a little irritating that I could not watch this yesterday at Mid around 7pm onwards. Not that I can't make it for the 8.45pm movie, but the end time is not suitable. not only screening time may be longer for inception, there are tons of people who wont get it. However, I SEE TRUCKLOADS OF screening time for Predators and Eclipse (ECLIPSE DANGNABBIT!). WTF? such as those... anti Di Crap io anti Nolan works No extended car chase scene No James cameron No 3D etc |

apparently there are omitted few scenes from my watch at GSC, the scene at the end where the city is crumbling around is let out (friend said he rewatched it in sg, it was there. He first watch was at MV GSC.
Could anyone else verify this? |
