QUOTE(dlct87 @ Jul 17 2010, 03:51 PM) the only thing i can say is this movie packed too much stuffs inside it, you will never get everything in 1 go (in fact, you won't even after several viewings), but most people liked it despite that i kinda get it in my first viewing...nt hard to understand bt i did focus a lot (gf said i was holding her hand too hard at times lol) |

QUOTE(QuickFire @ Jul 18 2010, 07:18 PM) Nolan's ideas are very well executed on the plot level, but on every other level, and especially the visual, I can't say I was very impressed. The best sci-fi films have never been obsessed with plot. 2001: ASO moved so slowly and basically had no coherent plot. Blade Runner and Gattaca, each having created a very distinct and memorable sci-fi world, were never infatuated with the plot, instead relying on characters and a human touch to make them truly great. The thing about plot is that after a while, you feel there is nothing more for you to take from. As a heist film, Inception is high concept and damn good, but I cant help wondering, with such lofty ideas, why settle for something less? The film needs something more to reach true sci-fi greatness. well its pretty understandable as u would want the subject to think that this is reality and not a dream...But I dont want to give people the wrong idea now. Everyone, go watch Inception. the movie did explained about how the subject can be defensive when he knows he is a dream etc... so i guess during the mission, they cant really overdo things thus no super flashy stuffs... |

no offense can the mod or some1 jz give 'ate' a warning or something...
he seems to be really trolling hard... oh ya about wut in the safe, i think it was placed there by fisher himself... if i'm nt mistaken, the 3rd layer itself is fisher's dream (his goddad was his own projection)... This post has been edited by evofantasy: Jul 19 2010, 08:23 PM |

QUOTE(n00b13 @ Jul 19 2010, 08:35 PM) I thought it was quite clear. Level 1 was raining because Yusuf forgot to pee before they entered the dream. You missed that? yup...Okay, if you put it that way. But Mal would've appeared anyway, because that's where the story needed to go. Nolan just wanted to cover that base. when yusuf got into the car, they did said that to him... btw could there be more inception actually? like some1 incepted cobb to forgive himself i wonder... |

QUOTE(hakumiyashi @ Jul 21 2010, 12:22 PM) The 2.5hours still feel like an edge-of-the-seat-on-roller-coaster-ride experience to me! i find it long cause i keep wanting to knw wut happen in the end lol...I am now being incepted that any movie with simpler plot than this movie is considered an 'average' movie. or maybe i focus too much and find it tiring |

QUOTE(Kyoyagami @ Jul 21 2010, 06:18 PM) I think Inception also works in this way. haha dun be like me >.<First viewing is meant to raise questions in you. 2nd viewing and onwards is to answer those questions. It would be hard to grasp everything (unless you've really concentrated the whole way in the movie to understand it) in 1 go, but either way, the winner of this whole thing would be Nolan and WB. gf complained me too focus... anyways there are humanities involved which i think is well portrayed by cobb... the issue about his past, him turning a new leaf, him changing cause of his kids and of course about his wife... i somehow feel that in the final level/ limbo he was incepted to forgive himself (Mal getting shot at) through emotions just like how he incepted fisher... |

QUOTE(dlct87 @ Jul 21 2010, 08:13 PM) yup, he clumsily tried to spin it but it dropped to the floor, and he didn't tried again cos Saito was there..... or he didnt wake up in the end...i think the "visions" was just the remnant of the earlier dream that caused him to be panic seriously, nolan purposely arrange all of these 'coincidence' lol... still it depends on ur interpretation and nt really on finding out the 'truth'... |
