Absolutely brilliant, this is by far the best work of Nolan.

QUOTE(QuickFire @ Jul 15 2010, 03:46 PM)
Just watched it, and I must say, I was a bit underwhelmed. The first hour, where they introduced the dream world and the rules that govern it, is marvelous. It's only midway through the heist when things get really complex and you (well I anyway) struggled to keep up. I was trying to train my thought on one thing and the film just waltzes past and throws me another Thing That I have To Wrap My Brain Around. To be honest, I think it gets too complicated for its own good at times. Too much on-the-fly thinking does suck away the enjoyment, you know. And there is an emotional centre to it, but again, the reason it doesn't quite work out is because, at least partially, you can't feel the emotions when you're wrecking your brain thinking. In the end, I still have some big questions that need answering. It's either that or they're large plotholes. Probably the former. So I'll watch it again in a few days, and I won't really judge it before I do.

there were 1 or 2 amongst us too felt a little underwhelmed. though i dont look it as a negative to the movie but i suppose the anticipation wheel ran a little faster in them.

scot thru the movie in your mind again & my guess your review 'underwhelmed' might climb a few notch up again.

So according to you, why or how did they wake up? Sorry but I have no idea what you're trying to say. Perhaps if you could give your own interpretation on the ending?

*Sorry but I love the film to bits. It's been the first film in a long while that has engaged me enough to discuss the film across SEVEN movie forum sites.*

Pretty much like his tricks. Leave to interpretation. Don't you think this movie has one bigger trick up nolan's sleeve?

I'm for just taking the ending at face value:

Is this a loose remake of the cult following 1984 flick called Dreamscape starring Dennis Quaid?

You never experience it before? And remembering it? I do.

I remember I was on my way to school. My brother sent me to school and he took a different route. The sky is purple in the morning, it illuminated the tree leaves purple too...

Then I snapped in the dream. It wasn't real... I asked my brother to stop the car. We went out of the car. My brother just leaned on the car while I was shouting to myself 'Wake up!!!'

I remember that dream as clear as possible.

Hmmm... sometimes I do not remember my dreams... except some... but usually when I have long ones, I can't remember much details...

But I always have some deja vu's... and it was pretty freaky... sweat.gif

Yeah, lucid dream is nice. nod.gif Experienced it I think more than 10 times; usually when I'm tired or stress. The dream is so real; and you can control what happen in that dream. What I normally did was flying around like Superman; just like Neo in The Matrix. tongue.gif

I had a few. Twice if not mistaken.

Fully aware it was a dream, i took control of somethings that would bend reality (flying around. My dreamscape was apartments surrounding me. I guess it shows i feel puny in reality).

2nd I can't really pinpoint it. Was interested with out of body experience, but that's another subject altogether. tongue.gif

The easiest way to enter lucid dream is to wake-up, and then go back sleep again. Thats how I got most of my lucid dream. laugh.gif

Easy is correct, but I always notice there's a time limitation. I hate free falling where I know I'd wake up if the speed is just too fast.

I'd wake up with my heart racing. Wonderful how the mind tricks me into really getting me to believe I was free falling. tongue.gif

Yeah, true that; the heart beat. And did you noticed how you body feel towards gravity when you about to jump and fly. I can feel the G-force. laugh.gif

Like I said, its the mind tricking with u. I think i've understood most of the concept that inception tries to imply (something impossible can be possible). And yeah, dreams may well be the perfect motivation for an inception of an idea/ideal.

Lets debate: Dream or Reality? if we were constricted by Nolan's rules, what's your pick?

I like dreams... Makes us create what we want. Fantasy always makes our mind curious. See things differently as if you are looking at your own movie you created yourself.

I have one experience is I was washing dishes late at night (I tend to stay up late during my college years to online), one big glowing moon like thing is just reflecting the light in. My house windows are those blurred ones, I opened the window and saw, all our solar system planets close together! It's just like they are a short journey away!!!

The sun is not that bright, seems weak. I get to see Jupiter, Mars, the Ring of Uranus, the Stars!!!

I've always fascinate myself every night looking at the stars, the Orion is usually just right above me when I look up.

That dream was the most epic I had so far.

I'd pick dream.

Share your dream experiences!
