He was dreaming throughout the entire movie. That is not his totem. That top was Mal's.

I've seen it 5 times here, 6th this weekend. There are many recurring things to note as to why i think he's in a dream...

"Taking a leap of faith with me" mentioned by saito / Mal, and other people.

"When are you coming back to reality" mentioned by Michael Caine after a long pause and look at Cobb.

Mal realising that she was in a dream, thus 'taking a leap of fatih with me' at the ledge scene brings her back to the TRUE reality. They never showed her death on the street floor, But they showed other deaths consistently and clearly throughout the movie.

Narrow corridor escape in Mombassa, with Saito conveniently appearing at the end of the tunnel of light is very reminiscent of a very common dream.

Well many other significant things, but im sure its been beaten to death lol

These to me are the most compelling items that make me think he's in a dream. Watch it more, and you'll be even more convinced that it was a dream.

exactly. and since limbo is a state of unrestrained dreams i'd expect it to be more of a mess and since the person in limbo should be confused as shit and wouldnt know they're in a dream it doesnt make sense that ariadne could just leave so easily. if level 4 was limbo it would make limbo look like just another level. cos they way they were talking about limbo in level 1, it sounded like it was a death trap.

The totem wobbled maybe because Mal was running very fast heading towards Cobb passing by the totem with a gun in her hand. Now.. draw another conclusion... adeh~

I was thinking, why inception is so hard to do, they do explain it, but i cant really get what they really mean.

For me, is totally possible, like how i infiltrate your dream, and tell you tomorrow Sport Toto first grand prize is this number, and when you wake up, i am 100% sure you are going to go buy the number. Wasn't that call inception? I put an idea into you, you believe is true and do it in reality?

well in the movie planting an idea is

impossible (according to Arthur): what will you think, if i tell you "don't think about elephant"?

"bloody difficult" (according to Eames): seed which is too complex won't be accepted

definitely possible (according to Cobb): just need to go deep enough

so combining all, planting an idea cannot be done in superficial layers and too complex, or else the subject's mind will reject the idea

OMG...    3-disc set with a friggin totem, I somehow (and others too) knew the collector's edition would have a totem! Who knows inside the set could have some secret compartment or some kind of secret. "TDK Blu-ray" was filled with extras but this is amazing!
