Mate.. you're asking me to verify something that is subjective..

You're not selling a specific jersey but you are offering services to buy something from United Direct.

Again here is the link of your sales thread:

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f=21&t=966924&st=0

As you can see.. you're not selling a specific jersey.

I need some advice from you guys.
I bought a Man United jersey last year from MU megastore, complete with championship badge.
Last week my wife accidently wash my jersey in washing machine. To make it worst, she than put the jersey in a dryer. Because of that, the white line across the back was ripped off (tanggal!!). I manage to locate the white stripe and it looks intact (except for the bottom part).
My question is, do you guys know how can I glue that strip back? I mean is there any special glue that is meant for shirt.jersey?
*
Here I come to save the day.... flex.gif

Dude..

You can try glue back the strip by looking for something called 'fabric glue'.

Do not.. I repeat.. do not, use gam gajah. Because this is PU and is too delicate for gam gajah.. It will melt, trust me, if you use gam gajah.

If the material was felt/velvet/lextra or foam embossed, can use gam gajah.. but this is PU material...

So you must use fabric glue.. actually fabric glue is safer to use compared to gam gajah but gam gajah is very good and strong (robust, even if you wash the jersey.. glue still intact) but it cannot be used for the white stripe because the white stripe's material is PU and gam gajah is super strong (contains acid) and it will melt it.. trust me.

Where to find one? Look at stationary shops, carrefour/giant/tesco/cold storage etc etc.. this is the fun of DIY jersey.

Anyway to give you a good jump start, you can look for this product:

user posted image user posted image

Bostik GluStik is a product from australia. It is a glue stick that can be used to glue fabric. And good thing is, it is washable..

More info on Bostik GluStik: http://www.bostik.com.au/browse.php?cat=Stationery

QUOTE
Bostik Glu Stik is an acid free smooth stick glue that dries clear, non wrinkle, convenient and mess free. Designed to bond paper, cardboard and fabrics. Acid free therefore non-corrosive and non-yellowing. Ideal for sticking paper together, sticks photos in albums, art and craft applications.

Another article about it: http://www.aussiescrapbooking.com.au/artic...ik-is-acid-free

And as mentioned in the article, it is:

* Safe
* No-Toxic
* ACID FREE
* Washable

I saw one at Giant.. dunno if still got or not. You can help us (since I have helped you here) to go and look for it.. take photo please, like someone here before who took the Staindevils photo at Cold Storage. You help us and we will help you.

So try looking for it (or something similar..). Then.. try applying the white stripe with the glue and then.. press it on the jersey.

Then.. cover it with a cloth or plastic cover.. then iron on it (gently press) for 5 seconds.. Be careful since you're ironing something that is delicate (PU material) so don't over iron.

Then, terbalikkan your jersey (inside out) and then iron again beneath the area where you glued the PU white stripe. Press gently (not too firm) again to ensure the glue bonds very well...

Leave it for one day.

Good luck mate.

Jerseyman.

p/s: can I use your photo as one of the guides I write? to remind newbies never wash your jerseys using washing machines.. better wash by hands..

Ahah.. your lucky day today...

Later try and use it to bond back the white stripe back.. be careful when you do it.. don't overheat and ruin the white stripe.. make sure you put the glue smoothly on the layer of the white stripe.

But i guess it would be better if barca use yellow. btw, how do they pick who's is home or away ?
*
Based from the arrangement of the earlier UCL knock out phase draw...

Since in the final itself, it is mentioned as "Barcelona vs Man United", not "Man United vs Barcelona"... remember the UCL quarter finals knock out draw? When a team is pulled out from the ballot draw... they are placed in group A and group B.. if not mistaken, A will be considered the home team in the finals....

Since Barca were in the group A (with Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern) while United were in group B (with Arsenal, Roma, Porto and so and so).. that is how it was arranged.. if United were in group A and went all along to the finals, they might be considered as the home team..

I am not 100% sure about this, but I remember hearing about it at espn show...

Even in wikipedia, they've already concluded that Barca will wear home and United will wear away:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_UEFA_Cha...ns_League_Final

But me being myself, I will not confirm 100% that's the case.. People were asking me, is it true that United will wear white?

2 things that will confirm it...

1. Public announcement from manutd.com, soccernet.com, etc etc
2. The final jersey being sold at kitbag (hopefully......)

Bear in mind, it has happened before in the finals, both teams wearing away kits. When United met Barca in the old Cup Winners Cup finals, both teams wore away kits (Barca with their light blue kit and united wore that special one off white away kit... only worn in that finals)... United and Benfica did that as well.. both wore their away kits (benfica with their white away and united with their one off all blue kit) in the 1968 finals...

So we shall wait and see.....

the teams can still decide what jersey they want to wear even tho they are home.
ac milan did that in 2007 against liverpool in the final where they opted to wear their away strip, even tho they were designated as the home team.
*
Precisely.. That is why I won't confirmed that United will wear white and Barca will wear their home kit...

You can apply it at the man united home and third (blue) kit. But it must be applied on UCL jersey.. not EPL one.

Where to apply it? On the center of the chest, between the nike swoosh and club crest.

You can use masking tape... To make it stay at it's position while trying to apply it.. Just don't iron on top of the masking tape.

Folks...

Just to highlight you guys, on being careful when buying in ebay...

Sometimes you see a nice looking jersey, especially one that "seems" to look like a player issue or match worn jersey lurking around in ebay.

Most of my jersey collector mates knows this.... but for you guys out there, be extra careful. There are people conning others by falsely selling a jersey they claim to be match worn or player issue....

Take a look at this ebay jersey: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=110389801395

Currently the highest bid for this jersey is £62.00 (6 bids).

I pity the guy who bid for this one..

Why? Because that looks to me a DIY made jersey from a replica jersey...

Fact: There were no long sleeve versions for the replica jersey of the 1994-1996 Man United home jersey. But this person was clever enough to try make one.

Look at the jersey closely from the photos:

user posted image user posted image user posted image user posted image

Here is why I would say that this is not an authentic long sleeve player issue/match worn jersey. It is actually a replica jersey that is DIY and made to look like one. Here's why:

1. Look at the umbro logo and sharp logo. It looks like it is printed. Player issue jersey has embroidered umbro logo with the registered (®) logo near the umbro logo. Why the replica version has only printed umbro and sharp logo.

2. Look at the sleeves..... The correct replica version or player issue jersey should have plain dark red sleeves with no patterns on it. But this one..... yes.. look at it closer, it looks like there is the old "old trafford" stadium watermark. Want to know why? I believe the person who did this, took another replica jersey, cut off the material of the back (body) of the jersey... stitched it to this jersey and made it look like long sleeves (which is why the presence of the watermark on the sleeves). The cuffs can be easily found from other replica jerseys such as the 1996-1998 home jersey or the 1997-1999 white away kit.

3. The number 11 looks very poor... Not neat and nice like the real match worn number...

Beware.... don't get conned easily.

Hi guys, how do you fix a problem like this?

user posted image

Try using the fabric glue that I mentioned previously in this thread...

Later, after applying the glue, press hardly and then flip the jersey inside out (terbalikkan the jersey). Then press firmly the iron beneath the area that you placed glue.. press for 5 seconds on medium heat. Then leave it for 1 day (do not wash it)... then see how it goes.

If it still doesn't work, use gam gajah.. but be extra careful..

Jerseyman will not be held responsible on any accidents or bad results... haha. Hope I don't scare you.. It's actually easy to fix.

why does the jersey have MUFC wording at the red stripe(back of the shirt)? i though only replica version have the MUFC wording. correct me if im wrong.
*
There are 2 types of player issue jerseys for the 07/09 home, 07/08 away and 07/08 goalkeeper kit.

For EPL - The white stripe on the back has no MUFC (EPL prohibits the usage or wordings on jerseys without their approval)
For UCL - The white stripe on the back has MUFC but it has a smaller AIG on the front (because of UEFA ruling).

So the one with MUFC is for UCL games.

Thank you.

first time I am posting in this thread. I am looking for a place to buy jerseys (not too expensive though).

But: Should be jerseys from asian teams, like Malaysia national team etc.

Thanks!

Try looking at q-line store in Pertama Kompleks (you can find their contact number on the first page) or you can try buying online through aku-altra. Their website is http://www.akualtra.com/

But they are currently having some problems with their system. Hopefully once it's sorted, they will be selling local jerseys back again.

Anyone knows why size S and M are unavailable to select?

http://store.manutd.com/stores/manutd/prod...e.aspx?cid=7923

Is it because stock has ran out, or they're just waiting to replenish?
*
It is because they have ran out of stock and they will re-stock later.

Why not you drop an email to kitbag and ask when will they re-stock the UCL final rome jersey. Their email is info@kitbag.com

They will reply after 2 working days at least.

QUOTE(teddie @ May 23 2009, 11:06 PM)
guys, im looking for a genuine arsenal home jersey for my gf, if i purchase from nike do they provide numbering services? sry for my ignorance sad.gif
*
Local nike stores do not provide numbering services. As mentioned in the first page (haih... as I purposely written under the thread's topic title.. "please read 1st page first for info/R&R") you can have printing services only at 3 places locally:

1. Al-Ikhsan store in BB Plaza
2. Real One store in BB Plaza (below al-Ikhsan)
3. Q-Line store in Pertama Kompleks

Nevermind.. To buy ladies size jerseys.... is a bit tricky, because during early season, Nike boutique outlets (sportsland and hytex studio) do sell them once and while.. but they can easily be sold out quickly because the stock is limited.

If you can't find one... you can try looking at singapore or buying online at kitbag.

I will one day compile a guide on how to buy at kitbag and place it at the first page.

QUOTE(koro @ May 23 2009, 11:22 PM)

Remember kitbag offers PU type nameset. Not highly recommended. Better get the lextra ones at the 3 local stores mentioned earlier.
