Customs tax is strictly based on stated schedules and list and cannot be imposed without reference to any regulations or acts. Tehre will be an endorsement on the freight slip so you are entitled to appeal in the event it is wrongly taxed. The relevant clauses relied on to tax your parcel would be stated.
Lit ching is right. DHL will transfer the costs to the receiver when taxed. Receiver has right not to receive the parcel and contest the tax imposed. (PS mods, this is not an illegal discussion, this is a discussion on our inherent legal rights on legal purchases of authentic items made from legal sources. Feel free to delete post if necessary or when it leads to unjustified / confrontational posts) This post has been edited by chcher: Aug 25 2009, 12:58 PM |

Even it is hard to fight back, we still have to protect our right, if you just let go like that, they will become more and more rampant and get away on this issue.

They (DHL) should provide proof or receipt from customs that show how they calculate the taxes. You can ask for that at least.. when UPS taxed us, they normally include that. |

I am still a young collector, maybe not event a collector yet, but I must admit I have fake jerseys, from the times when I was young and innocent and my parents or relatives buy a soccer jersey for me. (Even if I know it is fake, I must show some respect that they gave me for as a gift and not reject it otherwise I will eat the rottan in no time)
So I wondering how do I exactly start off being a "collecter", first things first, no fakes, so do I throw my fakes away? can I wear them at home for sleeping or something? use as rags? I know some taikos will get 1 or 2 fake jerseys once in awhile from ebay, so what do you do with it? keep as a specimen to study how good a fake it is? I would like to keep my fake jerseys as a specimen, hopefully. I will ask more questions later. |

But you want to throw them in order to be a "pure" jersey collector? So I wondering how do I exactly start off being a "collecter", first things first, no fakes, so do I throw my fakes away? can I wear them at home for sleeping or something? use as rags? Its your choice, not the "taikos" here to make it for you. If i were you, i like them and i could use them for sleeping, why not keep them? Just keep hush hush about the the fakes here and dont display it in your collection ok what. Sorry if there was any offence i offended. What one does with fake kits is purely one's own choice. Its your personal belief and sense of value. Just that in this thread (and in the forum generally) it is not allowed to discuss any form of fakes / illegal / immitation goods.
Having said that, I think I speak for most if not all JCs here that we do not condone fakes at all. The "excuse" that one is poor is not justification for getting fakes just to support one's team. It is a valid reason, but not a good justification. Those who cannot afford to get original jerseys are still true supporters if they support their club by other means. Those who can afford may do so by purchasing licensed products to help the finances of one's supported team. If not, please dont indirectly kill the club by depriving it of income and worse still, benefit unscrupulous dealers / sellers who are making quick bucks and taking advantage of fans and the club itself. anyway on the tax issue, there are means to appeal any taxes wrongly imposed. But first thing first get the customs slip from DHL and see whats the reason for the tax posed before jumping to conclusions. FYI, the list of items and schedules of taxable items are subject to changes from time to time. |

Agree with u, during study period, we where got $ to get original jersey? So the only way is get the fake 1, this what we can afford. But now, when u start working, got own income, then can start get the original 1. Another thing is, buy original jersey not only for support the team that u like, but also the brand, like Adidas, Nike etc....
