This phone won Best Imaging Experience from TEST Factory in Germany, something like TUV for mobile phones. And it uses a top of the line cam module which is even better than C905 eventhough the megapixel count is less. It will not lose out to Idou since it targets the middle to low market segment. For such a camera, it's actually dirt cheap and I think SE has done this on purpose. So in short C901 is an affordable super cam phone which is not great at anything else (eg no wifi, no HSDPA 7.2mb, QVGA recording, no A-GPS standard media player etc, etc, ) aimed at people who want a simple candybar phone with excellent camera rclxms.gif

random pic...autofocus stops the fan motion..lol

superb~ rclxms.gif

Actually faster shutter speed (which can be triggered by lower ISO) is what makes rotating fans seem stagnant and spinning tyres stop. This usually happens when 1) You're in broad daylight 2) When you use Xenon depending on the cam software value :-)

is mmg xenon flash only can take moving fan. the shutter speed is faster i think. even in broad daylight, u try take moving fan oso cant really get it.

Look at the car on the 3rd lane. Clearly it's going over 100 kmph, look at the rims for sure the revolution is even faster than a fan revolves and notice how still they look. This was taken with a W-series phone, I don't even have to mention how Cybershots would perform. Even at night they would look stagnant at least with SE K800 Xenon AFAIK (but they would be dark and riddled with noise of course). People always underestimate SE just because other brands have more spec doh.gif

I'd say it's the best camera phone in its class, not to mention cheapest. Too bad people will perceive it as just another "Cybershot phone" with mediocre performance without looking closer at its true capabilities. I think it's also a pretty candybar with everything you need in a feature phone (if you're already over the "I wanna install a million apps in my phone" phase) drool.gif

to be frank, i found that N95 video recording is better than K850i. im an ex-N95 user too
*
Of course maa N95 has VGA resolution, cannot compete wan. SE still slow in video record department, bad for their portfolio only X1 can have VGA, next W995 got WQVGA, the rest belong at the lowest of the food chain yawn.gif

Compare moving car in a tunnel at night (W902) and car on a highway in the day (W995). Sorry can't do that with C901 since I don't have the phone. All in the name of good fun eh?

AFAIK, the way red eye reduction works is the flash gives an initial burst so that our pupils constrict beforehand and reflect less light when the actual flash fires which then reduces the red eye effect. There are other controlling factors that determine the efficiency of red eye reduction such as distance from the subject and intensity of the initial burst.

A2uploader should work fine with all A2 fones, tried with my W902 and it worked a treat. No need to use it on my current fone now coz it's damn good with the latest fw. On another note, to all those concerned about the absence of image stabilizer for still pics, frankly i've tried many times to find the difference by switching it on & off but couldn't find any in my last 2 fones. Image stabilizer for video does make a difference though. Just curious, do you have that in C901?

One more example from my W995 just for the fun of it. Some helicopters were training for the Merdeka Day celebrations. Notice you can see the helicopter's rotor blades, it's like it's hanging in mid air notworthy.gif

It's enuf. Not that weak, not that strong either.  But C901 is gazillions times better than C702/C501.. Worth it for an upgrade.. Since it's the cheapest among 2009 5MP phone camera..

@skyer&scorps
the red light in C901 is for video recording..
if you records video, it will turn on.
so you cannot secretly record wimminz in public toilet.. hehe
you'll caught red-handed because red light is easier to notice,

Focus-assist is still using white led anyway.
please put your fingers away, do not overlapped the Cyber-shot writings,
do a test if you dont believe..

Yellow tint or hazy pictures could also be due to the flash reflected from the phone's clear casing that's sometimes bundled with ap sets. If that's the case you need to find other ways/casing to protect your phone

Have you installed the PC suite CD that came with the phone? All the drivers are in there and if you haven't then maybe that's the problem. The SEUS program alone doesn't have those needed drivers

Finally got myself a peach colored c901.

So far so good. Only grudge with this phone is that certain times it the display dims itself. Even at 100% i find it not so bright to view...

*
That's the ambient light sensor at work, which helps you to prolong battery life by dimming your screen when there's no need for a bright display ie. when you're in a dark room. Sometimes it dims itself if you cover the sensor itself (which is located beside the earpiece) by accident so if that happens, be sure to point the sensor to a light source so that your display becomes bright again nod.gif

First of all, without flash, there seems not enough light coming in to C901 compared with 6220C in dim environment.

Secondly, with flash, the object in C901 appears to "overexpose" compared to the more natural approach of 6220C.
*
Try increasing exposure value before you shoot, simple solution, no need to mod oso. Eventhough 'full auto' setting is used for benchmark testing, it sometimes doesn't show the phone's true potential and tweaking the settings a bit may produce amazing results.
