How's the picture quality taken with Xenon Flash? I really like this hp for the Xenon Flash. My C510 is crap and useless at night. Considering to change biggrin.gif

It's enuf. Not that weak, not that strong either. But C901 is gazillions times better than C702/C501.. Worth it for an upgrade.. Since it's the cheapest among 2009 5MP phone camera..

@skyer&scorps
the red light in C901 is for video recording..
if you records video, it will turn on.
so you cannot secretly record wimminz in public toilet.. hehe
you'll caught red-handed because red light is easier to notice,

Focus-assist is still using white led anyway.

Red eye problem is very prominent in C901...ruined all my pictures at night with flash..sigh...

Probably will change to C901 in november, my birthday is near biggrin.gif

C901 to me is perfect in anyway, then SE has to ruin it with no front camera! Is it really that difficult to add a front camera in front?

Yellow tint or hazy pictures could also be due to the flash reflected from the phone's clear casing that's sometimes bundled with ap sets. If that's the case you need to find other ways/casing to protect your phone

ya probably casing too...
but it's most likely his fingers are causing the glare..

xenons are powerful, unlike led.
even if you put fingers 5 cm away from lens also it will produce finger glare..

I guess you are right......just now I have tested, when my finger covers the Cybershot wordings, then the yellow tint comes, and vice versa. Really strange how it could happen as the finger is still far away from the lens...

That means your USB flash driver does not install properly...try other USB ports...

Have you installed the PC suite CD that came with the phone? All the drivers are in there and if you haven't then maybe that's the problem. The SEUS program alone doesn't have those needed drivers

just did some mod on the camdriver. if anyone wants to be a lab rats
and try it out do tell me about the results. only thing that has changed
is the camera buffer size and JPEG compression is relaxed... up to 2.3mb. rclxms.gif

do note that i do not own the c901 doh.gif

the below 4shared folder has both the modded driver -> camdriver0.dat
and then the original one -> camdriver0_original_c901.dat

May I know what is the implication of "changing camera buffer size" and "relaxing JPEG compression" ?

only 4 lines of the camera driver code is changed.
bigger buffer size and less JPEG compression could yield higher quality photos. As in more details.

Then again, I don't own the phone so I can't test and debug.
Worst case scenario is when launching the camera, it will crash and exit.
So make sure any one sane enough to try will be able to default to the
original cam driver.

during installlation, it will find drivers automatically

According to pakhusin's picture, C901 only lacks Saturation. If tweak Saturation to 20~30% more, then C901 is superb. Can do that for the driver?

My brother just lost his phone (due to break-in in his hostel)... I am planning to give him my brand new C901.

If I want to get another phone, do you guys suggest C901 or C905 ?

C905 should be better gua, after all 8MP, got wifi some more

I don't think C901 is better than C905, other than cheaper price or personal preferences
