Haha...as for me, the first day i took the C901, all weird warnings came out, which I have not seen since I own SE: no network coverage (even though there is network coverage in another phone
So no choice, I sent my battery to a phone shop to charge. Came back and update my firmware to R1FA, and I guess SE didn't install the firmware properly in the first stage... Hehe ... I will try to take some night shots. Btw, my previous C510 works great to me... This post has been edited by skyer: Aug 11 2009, 01:53 PM |

Surprise Surprise Surprise!!!!
This time, I can confirm that C901 has mechanical shutter!!!! Just now I went to take night scene. So I chose twilight landscape. Then, when I press the shutter key, i heard a tiny but hearable "tik tak" sound. I took about 3 shots and then I tried to figure out what makes the tik tak sound, since there is also no flash fired (another story about this later). So I adjust my head a little and see what was happening and to my surprise, once I pressed the shutter, the lens was closed for about 0.5 seconds and reopen!!! Another way to test your mechanical shutter is, when you slide open the camera, listen carefully, a tik-tak sound, it means the shutter is open. But, irregularities occur though Not all the time the mechanical shutter works.... |

seriously, my C702 also dun have that mechanical shutter..
but it do produce tik tak sound when entering camera mode.. kalau tak pecaya, do this.. 1. slide your camera slider to open 2. then press end call button, it will exit camera function, but let the camera slider open, dont close it. 3. >*<<*<*, service test, camera (repeat step 3 with camera slider already open, you'll hear that tik tak sound everytime) C901 dun have that K850 automatic penutup lens if C901 got, i'm sure you wont see the lens when camera is off ![]() This post has been edited by pakhusin: Aug 11 2009, 11:03 PM |

Forgot which mode Twilight Landscape Landscape Auto No Flash Auto With Flash Auto No Flash Twilight Landscape Landscape Two different actions happened when in Twilight Landscape mode. In the car, C901 will first capture the scene, followed by Flash (Even though in this mode, flash is disabled, very strange, and the order is definitely reverse to normal picture taking) If outside the car, C901 will just capture the scene, without flash. I suspect that may be my car was too dark to take picture, but Twilight landscape mode?? Pakhusin, you are right, tik-tak sound happens using the method you've shown. In another case, I hope I saw wrongly... This post has been edited by skyer: Aug 12 2009, 11:47 AM |

actually lanscape mode is suitable for daylight pics.. like sawah padi or gunung ganang..
you should've taken with Twilight potrait or Twilight lanscape glad you include auto mode as well for compare purpose.. twilight potrait- focus enabled (normal range), slower shutter speed than auto mode, low iso also, flash on or off.. twilight lanscape- focus set to infinite, lowest shutter speed (eats more light), low iso possible (low noise), flash disabled. both scenes suitable for nightshots.. (i always take nightshots with both scenes) landscape- basically focus to infinite, flash disabled, high iso (more noise).. suitable for daylight pic.. nevermind.. all are nice pics.. blacks are blacks.. that's all i want to see.. i hope scorps can decide whether to buy C901 or C905.. hehehe my previous night shots can be found here and here This post has been edited by pakhusin: Aug 12 2009, 09:01 AM |
