Hi Guys Just wondering if any of you guys download .MKV files and convert them to be watched on your x360 ?
I've seen some articles online but never been able to go around doing what they've pointed out .
Anyone got a clear cut and simple way that works ?
I hear the best way is to convert it to MP4 ...
Open to opinions ..

i always use a software to convert it to mp4. Usually mkv file is high definition video, rite? so you have to choose appropriate software to make sure the quality is flawless. The software is simple, choose your input, ad choose your output. that is all. and no loss on quality of the video. but if the video is big, it will automatically split the file into 2 (not compress it) as xbox only can play video file up to 4 GB only. check out xenonmkv. it's free. make sure you check out the option too. Hand brake is easier. There are pre-defined parameters already
Just choose your gadget/console type and you're good to go.

TVC usually after you convert it will put its name on the screen if i remembered correctly. Quite annoying i think.

QUOTE(gavind87 @ Feb 11 2009, 12:54 PM) Then i guess it's normal as transcoding a HD vid does take a long time. Unless u have a recent nvidia gfx cards that supports CUDA (geforce 8 series n up), that may sped up alot of the encoding for ya using Badaboom Media Converter. Oh but then again... it requires that u have a dual-core cpu. Transcoding using Badaboom Media Converter takes about the same time as the length of the movie or faster with a high-end GPU. So transcoding a 2 hour movie would take about 2 hours or less.
