Dear all, I just bought a new Asus K50IN, but i just notice that the total physical memory capture in the system properties is only 3.5G of RAM (supposingly is 4.0GB RAM) Is the graphic card share memory with the system, or it is using its own graphic card memory? If it is not shared, then where's the other 0.5GB of RAM gone?

QUOTE(hikari85 @ Aug 23 2009, 03:22 PM) it's because you're using 32bit OS, 32bit OS max support 3~3.5GB only, if you want support 4GB pls use 64bit OS Your seller no told you? Nope. they din mention anything. I'm using Windows XP SP2 actually. Is WinXP OS only available in 32 bits, and all 32 bits OS only can support up to 3.5GB of RAM max?
QUOTE(suadrif @ Aug 23 2009, 04:29 PM) i would like to add something, if i am not mistaken, my fren told me. this laptop has 512MB dedicated graphic memory, but can be UP TO 1.75GB SHARED MEMORY. so, maybe the other 512MB goes to your graphic memory. because there are other forumers use Vista 32bit, the system properties still show ram 4GB. So you are saying that the my graphic memory might becoming 1GB memory (512 from graphic memory + 512 Shared memory)? Where can I check this?

QUOTE(suadrif @ Aug 23 2009, 06:54 PM) yeap. its true that xp 32bit only can support to 3.5GB max. no more than that. for graphic memory, yes its true also. my ram is 2GB but its only show 1.75GB, means my additional 256MB goes to graphic memory. for example, this picture show my spec [attachmentid=1154142] for winXP, u can just right click on your my computer properties if i am not mistaken. p/s: this is WTS topic. its not nice to discuss it here. better u go to this official Asus K40AB topic: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1099903/+1180Thanks for the explanation ...
