Was wondering what is the official allowance for renovation time, is it 9am to 5pm on weekdays only (weekend/public holiday)? Need permit or CF from MBSP or developer? Need permission from neighbours? What if got damage to neighbours' property eg. wall crack, pipe leak, etc.? Is there a law for above? Or just chin chai? |

No as long as people dont complain noise can edi(can be solve by telling your neighbor in advance) Need permit or CF from MBSP or developer? Need to apply if there is any changes big in the physical structure e.g extension (via town council) Need permission from neighbours? No What if got damage to neighbours' property eg. wall crack, pipe leak, etc.? You need to cover for that, either by repair o in terms of cash. But normally whoever caused the dmg have to be responsible e.g. contractor. If you are not familiar with that do contact me i can give you good price =) |

QUOTE(laowai @ Feb 10 2009, 04:57 PM) Was wondering what is the official allowance for renovation time, is it 9am to 5pm on weekdays only (weekend/public holiday)? Permit for Renovation .. Definetely u need , different Renovations Work , May need Different Application , Some Major Works , u need to hire a Certified Draughtperson / Architect / Engineer , Some minor one - got Standard plans / application... about the procedure - u need to check with ur Local Council depends on where u r & Wat u r doing ... Diffferent are or Local Council will have Different Ruling & Different applications....Need permit or CF from MBSP or developer? Need permission from neighbours? What if got damage to neighbours' property eg. wall crack, pipe leak, etc.? Is there a law for above? Or just chin chai? there's another Short cut way is Going through the Contractor also can , they will Hire the Certified Draughtperson / Architect / Engineer , or help u to submit in all the applications ..... Permission from Neigbour - I think u need , ( again , Check with your local Council ) if Got Damage to neighbours' property eg. wall crack, pipe leak , By rights , if it cause by ur Contractor , ask ur contractor to Bare the cost & Fixed it , if ur contractor dont want to bare or Fixed it , Then susah a bit already... But Come to think of it , U & the Contractor are Responsible of the Damages , so u have to repair it - if not They will surely be arguement with ur Neighbour later , or may end up quarelling , etc.... or Simple to say , if u are the cause of it , just Solve the issue for Goodness Sake , the damage was done by our Renovation Works ........ The working time - Maybe can check with the Local council too... i would say Normal Working hours / Days shouldn't be a problem , About Night Time / Sunday / Public , if the contractor willing to work , just ask urself or check with ur contractor - is watever u r doing will Make loud noise or disturb ur Neighbour ... Then u decide la, If u want to Kacau Ppl with Making loud noise , go a head ..... If u like to do things Chin Chai , its ur will ..... But think , how if ppl do things Chin Chai to u ... so considerlah about other ppl too, especially ur neighbours........ Anyhow , just my humble opinions only.... hello all,
It sure seems that there are no time limitations in my city, they make noise all weekend. I think if you check with your City Hall or the contractor may know the regulations for your area too. In general most work is done on a 8am or 9 to 5ish plan, but many times they run later for inside work. As for the neighbors, no one seems to ask ahead of time for that either, nice of you to be considerate. I have heard you can contact a "Building Control" department for information about various building codes and issues. need any advice or tips.....flooring and carpet |

Hi all,
I am staying in single storey, corner lot. I would like to fully extend side of the house (20ft / 6m) to build another 2 rooms and one kitchen. We tried to get approval from MPKJ but rejected for the reason we must reserve 10ft land and cannot be extend, which mean we can extend for 10ft but not all. Anyone of you guys have experience/facing same problem on that? Do you heard of such rules? |
