My friends has a whole room of books, we often go there as if it was a library.
i think more than 5000 books in his house.
Mine is over 1000, but not til can open a book shop.

So lowyatiers, how many books do u have in your house? >9000?
and do u really read those books? or is it just for decoration?

I'm not so sure how much. maybe more than 500++?

I've read some of it..but sometimes there's just book that I wasn't interested in it.Political dissemination,biography,old literature books and poem.

I voted for 200-500. I'm not sure how many books but definitely more than 200. I consider this collection very small because i have limited space at home. My cupboard is too small cry.gif

wish to expand but...

wait till i get my own space tongue.gif

My collection decreased a bit a few years ago when blardy termites ate some of my books *sobs*. Even my Nabokov's Lolita wasn't spared!

I'm pretty sure I have >200 novels on my shelves. And maybe up to 100 more non-fiction (travel guidebooks, business books, etc.) I used to have more but I got rid of a lot of old books as well as boring novels.

I have arranged them neatly on my shelves (I used to have an entire wall shelved for my books; top to bottom). Haven't read all of them, so I now have about >20 books I haven't read.

hey... i did mention in the previous post... that it's not me who campak ok? oh well... for me... it's juz me studying coz sibling's age very wide...

LOTR is not tough to read... it's really a LITERATURE masterpiece.. the words are descriptive enough to imagine the world... words u dont understand... then it's time to google the meaning.. then u can widen ur vocbulary mah...

twilight ar? i bought it.. but still need the will to read it... >.< alot of ppl said.. it's juz so-so but juz the hype and gals loved romance mah... juz the stricking moment of the movie i guess... u can read the gist of the story tru wikipedia ( damn detail )

i do the same as well. accidentally bought a few copies of the book by the same author;)

anyways, i voted for >500 since i don't exactly catalogue all my books but i can assure you i've got books lined up in the living room, outside my room, in my room, on my bedside table, in my hometown etc.

the bad thing is those in my hometown were 'attacked' by termites. almost cried but what else can i do. just burned them to ashes;)

now am looking forward to Kindle but sadly they still won't ship to M'sia via the new International Wireless thingy:(

Used to have less than 20, these few years it ballooned to about 300. Now I am curious, I will have to count them. For some reason, that send a frisson of excitement down my spine (what in the world?!) Think Uncle Scrooge with his pile of coins *snigger*

I lost track of some though, people borrowed it and plain didnt return them. I dont mind if I know they kept it nicely. But some lost it and then dont want to admit it. And since I pressed my favs on them, now I cant read them myself.

I have about 300++ books and keep increasing. Just like u Persephone, ppl borrow my books never return. Now, I charge whomever want to read my books. If they don't return the books, never mind cause then with their deposit money I can buy another copy

Added 3 new bookshelves few months ago. Now i have more space for more books. One of my dreams is to have a mini library when i have my own place in the future. Right now I'm staying with my parents and sharing room with my sisters so it's not possible. I really have to start making a list of all the books i have, because i tend to forget what i have. Last month i accidentally bought 2 James Patterson's books of the same title shakehead.gif

what i would give to have floor-to-ceiling shelves filled with books. i carry around a list of books i want to buy, to avoid buying same titles. also, i keep an online catalogue of my books, so that i can check online before i make the purchase.

Comics (malay & english) -> 1,000+
Non-Fiction Novels -> 100+
Fiction Novels -> 300+
Magazines (all sorts including reader's digest, dengeki hobby or national geographic) -> 1,000+

All are mine alone, not including my mum's cook books, my brother's accounting books or my gf's chinese romance novels...

More than half are stored in boxes in the store-room...only those i foresee i have interest in reading them within the next 2 yrs are in my room's shelves...room too tiny to cramp all in... sad.gif

And what's GS Section btw? Won't mind to get a few more non-fiction miliary related novels...

Added on October 7, 2010, 3:37 pmOops, jst saw that GS stands for Garage Sales... Anyway, couldnt find anything related to military...so if anyone here's about to sell off their military non-fiction novel, jst drop me a PM...so long as i dont have it, chances are i would buy it from you, anywhere from WWII to current conflict....~

i'm not going to start counting all the books in my house. with 3 bookworms in it (myself included) there should be at least 500+. Not to mention we gave a lot of the older ones away because they took up space.

Not many, say about 100-200. That's only because I tend to be really 'picky' about what I'm gonna read...

I think I've got about~~ 2000+books. Well there's the textbooks,reference books..but my mums been a reader since like forever and she has like this amazing collection of books which we bought back in US during garage sales for like 25cents each. Mind you, they were pretty good books by John Grisham, Tolkien..yata yata yata. Now starting my own collection, muahahaha but not going nowhere much, very expensive books and the fact that I usually read a normal 600page book in 2 days, making me feel all like, 'what?? I'm done?'
