You guys use what software to update your phone? I just now tried Nokia Software Updater, when it reached the searching for updates step, it shows "Please Note that your mobile service provider, operator, or carrier may not have approved the latest Nokia device firmware available". So how? Im using Maxis Postpaid.

QUOTE(AsuKi @ Feb 11 2009, 09:05 PM) ha this wat i mention before. if you buy contract phone, nokia might blocking ur phone from upgrading the firmware dual contract phone got custom firmware from nokia, ( example if ur phone got stolen then maxis able to lock ur phone ). but dont worry you still can update ur phone by changing the product code. what the? i suspect so, because my set is warranty by sapura, and i heard sapura is contract phone, so what i do other than changing product code or do you have any best ways to fix this immediately? QUOTE(ntah @ Feb 12 2009, 05:09 PM) i'm also a new owner of blue tube.. pls add me to the list.. (at last.. hehehe) but i encounter serious prob in transferring all my contacts from SE K810i.... after hours of trying..i'd backup all the contacts to .csv, .html, .txt, .sms using my phone explorer... so is there any method for me to import contacts from such files? pls help me out.. bcoz its crazy to retype all those contacts (more than 500 contacts with multiple numbersn email bla bla bla...) why dont you just copy all your contacts inside your SIM card, then put the sim card into your new phone and release it.

As promised, here's what I received from Nokia Care regarding the Firmware Update,
"I truly apologize the situation that has been incurred with the phone's firmware. Thank you for providing me with the Product code. I was able to check for latest software update availability. Unfortunately, the system shows that there isn't an update available as you had incurred too. Therefore, it shows that currently there is no software updates available for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Kindly be advised that software availability is network and market dependent for your specific product code. It may be possible that a friend of yours maybe able to update, the reason being that his/her product code may have an update available. As I mentioned it depends if the product code has been agreed for a software release.
Additionally, you can check the software version of your phone when you switch off the phone, remove the back cover and battery. The version is stated in the battery compartment of the phone. Hence, kindly note that since a software update is not available for your phone then you will need to wait for latest release. You may confirm this by visiting the website periodcally. I do apologize for the inconvenience. Good day to you."
