BTW, how to you check the available memory of the phone ??? i heard v20 leaves you with only 45-50mb after a fresh restart, but on my phone v11 is reporting about 74mb phone memory available (i use this: menu --> option --> memory --> phone)

is that correct? ??

hmmm, having some problem trying out FOTA. It connects to nokia server and returns me with no updates found

what's wrong ?? do i need to put in maxis server profile or anything like that ?

my tube is from zitron, and was just repaired for the earpiece problem yesterday at 1U NCC , so i guess its not an ap set

any other possibilities ??

i tried with wifi ... can't try with 3g too expensive haha


yeah, thats true. But i have never done FOTA before, so wanna experience it and btw the update is much smaller compared to the NSU version = faster completion = less down time on the tube

this 1 because using NSU it is full firmware download, and using FOTA it is incremental download

when update is done, the firmware in your phone will be the same as those updated via NSU ...

thats because its a alphanumeric pad now .. so u just have to method

1) press 1 once, press 2 4 times, press 3 4 times and so on ...

or method

2) press 1, press 2 and hold for 1-2 sec, press 3 and hold for 1-2 sec

you know when u type on alpha pad without t9 ?? to get 2 you have to press it 4 times, all number is like that except 1 (press 1 time only), 7 (press 5 times) and 9 (press 5 times)

apparently the problem is v20 changes the unlock pad from numeric to alphanumeric ...

just updated to v20 via NSU, lazy to wait for FOTA to work haha

after upgrade had that search and dictionary error ... after uninstall 1 random app from phone, both apps magically works

now test further

anybody have packet data problem ??? somehow i'm unable to connect to packet data (3G and GPRS) at all.

can someone who can use packet data tell me what you see in , settings --> connectivity --> admin --> apn ??? is there anything cause mine is blank and uneditable

oh ya, forgot to mention i have done *136# and i can do video call, mms and also internet browsing via 3G and GPRS using my other phone using this same SIM card. Now i can't do any of those in this phone with that same SIM card

EXACTLY !!!! mine is written "Restrictions active" !!!!!! i knew that was the problem ... but how to fix ar ??? its the same SIM and its working with other phone ...

guys !!! that was indeed the problem !!!!!

i have to go into option and deactivate the restrictions but when you do this it will ask for PIN2. I also tembak the PIN2 failed the first attempt and second attempt SUCCESS !!

so for the benefits of others that CAN'T SEND MMS or USE PACKET DATA or have "Packet Data: Connection not allowed"

goto Setting --> connectivity --> admin --> apn control
if it says "Restriction Active" then deactivate it using the option.


PIN2 = 1234 PLS be reminded you only have 3 attempt !!!
after which most probably the SIM will be locked out and you may require PUK code to unlock it ... DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK

most probably it will work after this as mine started to work immediately

turn on / off A-GPS not at GARMIN ..

you can do it at,

Application--> Location --> Positioning --> Positioning Methods --> Highlight Assisted GPS and enable it ...


then, when u go into garmin, you can confirm that its using A-GPS or GPS by clicking on the reception bar on the top left on the main screen. If A-GPS is ON, it will say Assisted GPS on the next screen. If A-GPS is off, it will say Integrated GPS

bro, do you have data access ??? did you check the log for data usage and see whether a-gps is retrieving info from network ?

like me previously i have problem with data access, so even on a-gps it cannot retrieve the necessary info but now fix liao, will try later to confirm how fast it will lock with a-gps ....

*#7780# is soft reset (all setting reset, user data preserved)
*#7370# is hard reset (all setting + user data reset = like new phone)
green button + red button + camera button + switch ON is same as *#7370# (use it when u can't boot up the phone properly like what ridz is facing)

oic , your definition is about the soft/hard method to reset the phone ...

mostly this is caused by your screen protector as the proximity sensor gets wrong signal and trigger the disable screen on.

however, in v20 firmware the procedure of the disable screen on had changed a little bit, previously when a call comes in the proximity sensor will be activate BUT now, the proximity sensor will only activate when you have accepted the call so it doesn't matter now if your SP covers the sensor or not. The screen will always display properly when the calls comes in and will only turn blank after you answer the call AND proximity sensor sense that there is a need to do so
