Oh good god, my opinion of Murakami has totally changed.
My first taste of his works was The Wind Up Bird Chronicle, and I thought, ....How in the world does anybody like this guy's writings? I decided to give him a second try, and bought Kafka on the Shore. Am now totally hooked. Recently bought Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman, and I must say, this is my favourite book from him. I love his short stories more than his novels, as he takes just a single theme, and weaves a story around it, compared to the long journeys in his novels. Still love his novels though. Sigh. His themes of loneliness , and the discovery of "self" is are fantastic. |
