Malaysia already got firmware update la according to samsung customer service , its called IG3 , presently we r using IG2 only . . . But need 2 go 2 service center to get it as it is not available thru pc studio . Anyway , I went to Pg's service center and was told the firmware is still with their technicians , still not uploaded to their service center so if any of u guys do visit any service center in KL , do post it out k . Tx

Ermm.....IG3 is with kenetic scrolling and the rest of the updates , just like the firmware UK is getting

Thats wat they told me when I called Customer service and asked if there is an update a few weeks back . I went over to Pg's service center and they told me its not available yet over here in Pg , only around Feb . I can only get it in KL if I want it then ...Definately IG3 , I even reconfirm with the guy I spoke 2 and he said yes , with kenetic scrolling ( he put me on hold and reconfirmed with someone ) .

No chinese in HyperX la , didnt u read b4 u flash it ..only those guai lou language and if u r using 16G , dl the russian version ...The standard version is based on 8G JB1 firmware so a little problem if u r installing files thru pc studio

No idea , kinda lazy 2 reflash it . Its already in Msia since Jan le , dunno wth is our stupid samsung doing not releasing it out . Their excuse is "testing" . Like they know anything

OMG ...u dun know how 2 flash ? U sure u wanna do it coz normal flashing isnt tat easy as HyperX , u need 2 put in those 3 values yourself

1st of all , if u dl from tat page , 4 sure u need 2 merge the file ...Make sure u merge it correctly , u might need 2 rename the 2nd or 3rd file 2 merge it with the 1st but dun worry , its the correct 1 ... HyperX firmware flashing tool is practically spoon feed to u , just hit the "start download" button and its all done ... Standard firmware will come with 3 files which u need 2 upload it manually to your flashing tool . If u still got problem understanding it from watching the video , try google it under "how to debrand my samsung omnia hd" ... Should haf a written guide . Dun worry , flashing your firmware doesnt void your warranty in malaysia like other countries ...smile.gif

I know , seems just an upgrade of IG2 ....WTF with the rename 2 IG3 and new release , basically most of the firmware is from IG2 ...zzzz . So far , found the italian firmware 2 be good . Give it a try . XXJB1 or u can try the Global release . . . . If u wanna compare , Hyper 2.02 is definately faster and also lighter on the phone yet a bit buggy . Official Samsung should be better , least bug and more stable but laggy . . .Choice is yours ... All thanks 2 fark-up Samsung and their poor support . CB .....I8520 suppose 2 be HD replacement yet now I'm giving it alot of thought b4 buying this good phone with china-made hp support service

Just downloaded and flash my phone to the latest HyperX firmware. Below are some difference from the version i used earlier (HX2.02)

Pros

1) Response is faster
2) Smoother transition between pages (from menu to menu)
3) Java application, e.g. games, runs better and faster, no more breaking bad picture

Cons
4) If you looking for sliding from main screen to the menu (right) and to the photo contact (left), it's also no longer available.
5) If you would like to use the 3D tast manager, you need to install that patch manually that comes together in the download package
6) Cannot support Chinese language (13579, for your info).

So far this is what I've tested. So far so good and the speed is really FAST! Will try to load in Garmin and see whether is it working on this version since i can't make it work on the previous version (can't get any signal)... Till then...

Bro , those r not cons ....2.11 is a speed version , everthing is keep 2 the minimum to improve the speed of the phone ....If u got Taskman installed , u can see its running around 170 of free RAM or around there without a single extra application installed . But then it comes at a price , least language support ( only 2 ) , no 3D Navigation , etc....for Java , even if HyperX 2.02 , u can upgrade it to the latest java for a smooth game compared to the original installed . 2 bad SOHD cant support the latest flash ...damm . If u wanna everything like in 2.02 , just wait 4 the main release and if u need help with Garmin , pm me .

Added on March 4, 2010, 11:23 pmA piece of advice for those using RomPatcher ....Copy your patches from e:\ to f:\ and delete the folder in e:\ ......This done because c2z is not stable , it get glitches quite often and if u r trying to on your hp , it cant b switch on as the the process is relooping itself . With the patches installed in f:\ , just remove your memory card and start the phone
