iPhone 3g Speaker, wanna ask

Hi guys.. i useed my iPhone 3g about a month.. i know at the bottom of my phone have 2 speaker hole but only today i realize when i cover 1 hole, the other speaker hole have no sound coming out from it.... so just wanna ask u guys is it normal??? or 1 speaker is dead??? but 1 thing i know its still loud la... thanks
