How about acquiring a road bike if you're not going offroad?
Btw, I'm just 14 this year and am far from offroad.

Nope, that's not my bike haha.. I'm using Kona Jackshit platform pedals, a smaller saddlebag, and certainly no CatEyes LOL. Nice find, though I'd at
least scrub the tyres clean before selling my bike..
GT bikes are fairly good, especially for beginners.. plus with their unique Triple Triangle frame design.. I'm personally using a GT Backwoods (aside from a Commencal Normal Disc and Giant XtC Team) that is about 10 years old.. even up to this year it has survived numerous trips to Kiara and a XC competition some years ago in RRI. Plus my GT frame is really light! The kind of GT you'll find nowadays in M'sia are mostly targeted to beginners such as the GT Avalanche model.
Some people prefer to have a dirty bike look.

When I sold my Polygon, I put mud on it (on purpose) to make it look macho.
