You have to get them "worn in" first.
I didn't like D'addarios for my Lp-100, but I love them in my RR3.
But try Dunlop for your LP man....... to me they sound really good.

I used EBs in my early days of guitaring...... But I find that for a struggling student, EBs are BAD because they snap like dry twigs and have to keep changing them. This was back when I was using my crap strat. I switched to a few different brands, but settled down with Dunlop (They can last FOREVER and sound great) for my Fixed Bridge LPs, and D'Addarios for my Trem guitars. I find the D'As stretch better, while Dunlops have greater "meat" in them.
I WILL be switching to Dunlops for my Razorback once the current strings wears out, and judging from them now, should be anytime soon. |

Ironically, I never broke a string on my RR3, using .009 DAs........ I just change them after 3-4 month after heavy playing.....
And I really like to abuse the trem. ALOT. Still stayed in tact after that AND after alot of bends. |

So weird seeing Elvis with a Stratocaster |
