Lately (past few weeks) I have been experiencing very slow connection to LYN. Other sites were superb for me - facebook, gmail.

I asked Malaysian friends if they have they same problem, but they said it was fast.
Note - I am at oversea.

Is it the server location? What should I do to improve connectivity (to LYN).

LYN's server is in Malaysia IIRC.

The best you can do is use a proxy which has an international link that is fast to malaysia.

That's the reverse of what I experience this morning. I can't surf lowyat and yahoo. Pinging them result in slow respond but can't load/refresh their website. By the way are you using Streamyx or other broadband?

After 2am i can't surf into lowyat.net or even thestar.com.my

Google no problem. Some locally hosted sites also down for a while. Refreshed my IP still the same.

Freeproxyserver.net to access LYN also same result, but finally can access but very slow. In the end, I went to sleep and its OK at 7am.

corad, 4am-6am is when we perform our daily maintenance. The site shouldn't be very slow though. Please let us know more about the slowdown that you experience.

On the issue of delayed mails, I looked at the 304 mails delivered to you in the past 7 days. 97% were delivered under a minute, 2% under 3 hours, and 1% under 6 hours. Those 3% usually happens due to high load spikes or the intermittent network outages we've been facing these past 2 weeks.

There was an exceptional problem yesterday which affected Streamyx connectivity to our servers.

It's a complicated problem to diagnose since you're very far away. Anyway, provide me a traceroute to forum.lowyat.net and I'll send it up to our provider.. and we'll see how it goes from there.

banner loads well, but the rest of the site just stops. it does seem to be waiting for some of the adverts to load tho.

after 2-3 minutes the index will start showing but threads take about 4x the normal time to load.

thanks for the interest laugh.gif

Hello.
I'm having difficulty in posting a reply or even to browse LYN.
Only in LYN.
It's getting worst now.
Btw , I'm using Celcom Broadband and Safari browser and this is what it says :
QUOTE
Safari can’t open the page “http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?”. The error was: “unknown error” (kCFErrorDomainWinSock:10054) Please choose Report Bugs to Apple from the Help menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.

Thanks. smile.gif

Oh , this problem happens in other browsers as well.
