Guys, i had buyied "the stuff"!

But now, i have a problem...i'm a mule about networks/proxys etc...

I have two network cards...one for net, other without configuration..

Well, im thinking about, and let me know if im right:


1) Ill put some ip, gateway etc in the blank configurations of my second card;

2) I put in ps3 every configurations for automatic and then in server proxy, i put the ip for my second card and port 8080.


After this (if is correct what i say above) what should i do?

I have to config jesrd and all, and thenwhat i have to do to transfer the pkg to ps3?

But now for another reason: even like root, the kdenotworkmanager dont allow me change/write configs... well, this is the error:

"an error has occur trying change the device state...youll have to do this manually"

well, the only thing i could made is # ifconfig eth1 up 192.168.0.1

In the kdeNM screen, the eth1 still without specifications like: if is manual or dhcp, what is the broadcast, gateway etc...

Another doubt catch me suddenly...in the field hostname and domain what should i write?

And final question: i cant put my playstation 3 hd in my pc and try transfer these pkg files for some folder in ps3 hd? (for me its appear too much easy way!

I think it is easier if you use just 1 network card and use a network switch to connect the PC and PS3 instead of using 2 different network adapter

PC cant access PS3 internal HDD because it is encrypted and is using a custom filesystem

Only use multi-homed setup if you know what you're doing. If you don't, then you're just beating round the bush with that two-card setup.

I suggest you do what vorchiel suggested:

PC is hooked up to switch
PS3 is hooked up to switch
Switch is hooked up to internet

Setup the proxy on your PC as per instructions.
Configure your PS3 to use the said proxy to access internet.
Follow rest of instructions on getting your pkg files

You want to configure the PS3 to use your PC as a proxy. They don't need to be connected together via cross cable. I'm assuming you have a switch or a router with extra ports? Just hook up the PC to one port, and the PS3 to another port. Make sure the proxy is running on the PC, and configure the PS3 to use that proxy.

I think you need a crossover, since ps3 like a pc.

What linux you using? Using windows is much easier for your current setup. Just enable ICS and use ps3 proxy program.

I suggest use wireless router, since ps3 got built-in wifi.

My internet dont use a modem, its a direct rj45 cable connnected in my network card...

The 192.168.0.123 is for your ps3 ip. Both links are correct. As long as you can access your http://localhost/dUO8CdsAMhrhFHGBBeAxKIMtn...6eYRd2yIVE0.pkg.

Wireless router still have ports, so no worry. Normal cable is needed for connecting pc to switch.

Im using both (ps3 and pc) with crossover cable...strange, because with cross, the net works no pc....with normal cable, not...

There is the message of "state of connections" in ps3:

Some clue?

Set an IP manually for your PS3. Make sure its on the same subnet as your PC for ease of use.

put your ps3 on the same subnet as your PC. based on your info, you can use something like this:

The net works fine, i put the cable and it detects the firmware was downdate...

I downloaded it for pc and install via USB...my system is already with 2.76

But even before i update it, i was having this message:

An error has occur while transfering (80710092)

After that, i changed to a general primary and secondary dns:

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

But still the same...

Renaming the file for a short name in /etc/jesred.rules and /var/www/ps3 didnt help too...

some more clue?
