QUOTE(jazzy939 @ Sep 3 2011, 07:18 AM) It is never a prerequisite to have a degree to qualify to be a licensed engineer. Nothing that you learnt in aeronautical/aerospace engineering will help you in aircraft maintenance engineering, so why bother? what does Cat C really do in hangar Jazzy ? hmmSo to answer your question, it is not a good idea. |

QUOTE(jazzy939 @ Sep 5 2011, 04:53 PM) Under EASA-66, Cat. C will be the aircraft engineers in base/depot maintenance, able to release aircrafts completing the scheduled maintenance inspections or other related MRO activities. woww.thats a huge diff between Cat C under EASA and DCAM.hmm.theres a neighbour of mine working with MAS,grad as aeronautical eng. and he doing really well.i wonder, what his position in MAS,and hes one of the senior.Mr Rashidi, does that ring any bell jazzy ? thanks. You must remember that Cat. A and B under EASA-66 are line maintenance licensed mechanics hence the stark difference between EASA-66 and DCAM's Part-66 syllabus. Try reading the AMC with regards to Cat. C grant if you do not have Cat.B |

QUOTE(jazzy939 @ Sep 6 2011, 03:11 PM) Be aware that there is no Cat. C in DCAM Part 66. oh no wonder..because he told me that hes the one who bring back the new Mas fleet,A330.From my understanding,we need both b1 and b2 to get cat c.thanks for pointing that out Jazzy. Yes I do know Mr.Rashidi. He started as a Technical Service Engineer and he's way up in the corporate ladder now ! |

QUOTE(jazzy939 @ Oct 18 2011, 10:02 PM) hi maryjane, you've been busy! (which is good..) Well,im considering it since i have B2.But im not that good on electrical, and im scared. As for B1.1,i feel like man when assembling those hydraulic sistem yesterday and today and my group is the fastest, completed all task by today without any leak. But career wise,i prefer avionics on rotary since the system is not that big and mechanical on fixed wing.Thats why i would like to know what kind of job they doing as avionics engineer,if they stuck in a workshop trying to find problem for a ie gps cant switch on,then need to find faulty parts,i dont think it gonna work for me.I dont know how to put it,are they go really deep into elctrical or if something not working, they just put a new one or trouble shoot it..Well, mostly base work and offshore where the big bucks is. You're taking rotarywing? |

QUOTE(moat @ Oct 20 2011, 12:41 PM) an AN should do, otherwise an official letter from DCA dude..are u in aviation industry ?phone call is not sufficient [i cant prove it in the future] u r in the industry, can u say something is serviceable without putting your stamp/signature/date on CRS? can airbus ask u to modify something by phone call? can u take tech. svs. instruction/RI/EN via phone call? Added on October 20, 2011, 2:14 pm QUOTE(jazzy939 @ Oct 19 2011, 11:12 PM) Don't think you will be stuck in a workshop, unless you're in an MRO! Of course B2 type rated would earn more.. emmm..Im considering 2 jobs atm,B1.1 with MAS,and B2 with Eurocopter(overseas). The problem is,my school only provide B1 Part 147 OJT in Part 145..so for B2,i need 5 years exp to get the license and B1 is about 2-3.5 years. But Eurocopter sounds really attractive. What say u Jazzy ? And im scared to have B2 first, lets say in maintaining organisation, the ration of B1 and B2 is like 40 to 4 or 5.And now things already change,B1 license can do almost everything..This post has been edited by maryjane9996: Oct 20 2011, 02:14 PM |

QUOTE(jazzy939 @ Oct 21 2011, 09:57 AM) maryjane, Thanks Jazzy for the heads up!Ill think about it and i need to discuss with my mom as well You can't go wrong with Eurocopter! I'd say B2 has the edge although the numbers employed may not be as much as B1. You need to ask yourself what youreally want to do and really enjoy doing it for a long time! I normally advise my students to take the B1 first (B1.1 then taking piston and rotary wing modules after which they decide where they want to be, the major airlines, GA or RW), then tackle the B2 modules later after having some experience.. your 'value' will increase leaps and bounds... |

I'm still only into my 1st week of class. ohh..i thought u doing some core subject..haha..my bad..QUOTE(weikeat90 @ Oct 27 2011, 11:17 PM) if its in the manual then it should be correct, provided u are using the latest revision of the manual.. emmm..thanks bro for that clarification..feel much more relieve..hehe..650 in.lb is almost equivalent to 54 ft.lb.. well.. for me its ok coz i had torqued a A320 fuel return valve pipeline to 84 ft.lb.. which is almost 1000 in.lb... QUOTE(moat @ Oct 28 2011, 07:44 AM) i think there is some sort of miscommunication oh really ? coz what u said before is licensed engineer.well i almost done with my school..i dont know what the right term before u got your license(collecting work exp)..is it tech or engineer or apprentice ? thanks..if u r talking abt mas, u can only join as junior technician or engineer [or apprentice] u can only be promoted to a technician post btw, your mom wont be too happy after looking at jr tech salary range, go for engineer post bro |

QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ Nov 9 2011, 06:36 PM) Hmmm.... Have to build a model aircraft and prepare a presentation on the materials and construction of the aircraft chosen using Powerpoint for the final English Assessment. A380 a good choice? yeah i know its like "bmw" in aviation industry, but i dont that would be a great idea man.just choose some fly by cable aircraft like the 737.that would be a whole lot easier to understand, afterall its only for English.. |
