Well said guitar and that are all very good points!

There are more to it actually and these can be summarized in few words.

I won't share that online! That is part of 'personal' training coaching ..

Not to worry.. you'll get to it one of these days.. just don't give up, put in all the best effort you can.

If you feel things are getting harder and difficult each day, then its good! It's part of the journey...

Yes I agree with that, and about asking for advice/guides/pointers, I don't know where to start, too many to ask for me especially since I had not even completed my air legislation module yet which is why I decide to stay low for awhile as my knowledge is very limited especially when compared to seniors here like maryjane or you notworthy.gif

About the last sentence, should be good work attitude, ability to work in a team and just generally how a person look at problems and solutions? hmm.gif

im no where near to Jazzy, and even i finished my modules,i still have a lot more to learn.ill share what ever i know, dont worry.. smile.gif

Hm... just one of my senior told me: A engineer would not achieve anything if relationship between him/her & technician is not good.
"Engineer should trust his/her technicians" is what I have heard. Although I think it is uncomplete statement for 'good quality engineer'.

Experience and learning attitude is one part of it too. (Fresh engineer may have not done that specific job anyway, thus need to get guidance from senior LAE) Sometimes there are things just aren't straight in the AMM, but experience give you a way to solve it fast and good.
Example:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

*
i was participating in phase 4(800check) for Beechcraft SKA350 here in ST.Yesterday, even the licensed guy did a mistake when refilling hydraulic. It straight burst on his face. After clean up everything, the supervisor came and explain what happened.Having a license yes,but having experience on that particular aircraft is much more important.

Between a tech and licensed eng,u may have the approval, but the tech have more exp than u.so be humble when working,u dont lose anything.

Ooopss... not maryjane9996.. tongue.gif my bad.

Life as a licensed maintenance engineer is more that it meets the eyes.. a lot were based on experiences rather than from what is being read in notes, manuals etc. Not the issue of the actual maintenance work but carrying yourself and carrying out your duties as one is the focus here.

The grant of the license and subsequent approval is based on the belief that you are a COMPETENT person.

Obviously having the license alone does not mean you're competent, that you now know. What else constitutes to 'competency'?

It does gets tougher now huh..? Wait till you're assessed! laugh.gif

It's merely up to the company u know, don't think there's a fine line for tech position in the AN.i used to think like u,but that's not what happen in real life.i grad from aviation Australia with 147 recog for b1.1 and b2.and that doesn't make any difference in my salary. tongue.gif unless I got license.

To those who r interested in LAME program, i would like to share an important info which many ppl dunno. Welcome to check out AEROTECH TRAINING CENTRE (ATC). Diff from many other academies, ATC is the first EASA PART 147 ORGANIZATION in east malaysia n also the exam centre for EASA papers in malaysia. Therefore u are able to save ard three yrs time to issue your LWTR , which really really important for ur career. ALL Lecturers in ATC are License holders (regardless of DCA or EASA), so u r able to get to know the best knowledge n experience from them. The course tat ATC provides will takes ard 1yr n eight months (for theory), den u will be send to GERMANY ( AIRTECH BILDUNG) for practical training for CAT B1.1 for two months n also to SANDAKAN airport CAT BI.2 for 2 months. In other words, u r able to pursuit two types of licenses in one shot. After practical training, ATC will also provides u type rating course (eg: A320, B777, B737NG, etc) which i believe NON of other academies r doing, which makes u more marketable. Later, ATC will send u to airlines like airsia, malindo etc.. for ojt for duration bout 4 months. ATC is also providing EASA CAT B1.3 course for those who r interested in helikopter, n they r also having industry partnership with Eurokopter. Fee wise, it will juz cost ard 45k - 50k for d whole program ( including fee to germany for practical training n other fees) which is really ok in my opinion. (c'mon u can compare the fee with other academies if u think its expensive) So izzit still hard to decide where to go for LAME program now? I hav did alot of researches n asked alot of experienced LAE for their opinion for wad n where to choose for doing LAME program, n in the end EASA n ATC become the best ans. Im currently studying in ATC, n i feel lucky to make a gd choice which many ppl didnt even got d chance to know. For more infos, u may check ATC's website: aerotechtrainingcenter.com.my/style-demo.html‎ or email to aerotech_ATC@yahoo.com or call 088- 771411. Hope this sharing could help n looking forward for u to join us.

Dear monky80,

May i suggest you to spend about a half hour worth of your time to read this before proceeding with anything ?

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/923535/+600?author=jazzy939

It's a good option if you don't want to read all 144 pages smile.gif

I hope that helps since it does look like you need one.
