Hi there....

I've just got myself a poodle (dad= toy, mum= min) and would like to share with you all his pictures. smile.gif

His name is Bruno. Sex: M. Age: Exactly 3 months today! smile.gif

Got him from my friend for RM500 only. A real keeper. Friend didn't want to sell but need $$$ cause the mum needed operation. sad.gif (Some complication after giving birth to Bruno and his younger bro).

Oh yeah, my name is Michelle. smile.gif

Nice meeting you all.

Bruno got alot of fur? Where got wor. Probably his picture taken after his daily brushing. smile.gif Look fluffy.

Don't worry. Bruno's ear fur color is darker than his body one. Guess its normal.

Added on April 13, 2009, 5:30 pmhello there everyone....

Just wondering, when puppy @ this age (3months), do they have the habit of biting every single thing they see or smell?

Bruno just has this habit when I put him on the bed with me, he'll look @ me and then ATTACK!! He'll aim for my nose, ears or hair. Sighz.....

My MouMou also bite thing...she is 3 months+ old as well...Puppies are changing their teeth when they are around 3/4 months old..Try to buy some thing for them to chew.
My moumou also will 'attack' me n bark me...she is very rude..haha..

Bought for Bruno like so many different types of toys already. One by one ruined by him.
Bruno is the champion "Alarm" for me. When I go to bed about 12, he'll sleep as well. Then @ 3-4am, he'll start barking to wake me up to play with him. @_@

Wah! Bruno not that bad la. He dun bite the telephone cable nor the extension wire as well. He just likes to attack cloths & people's leg only.
Mine after poo will bark to wake me up to clean from him. Coz he know everytime after he poo, I'll pick up from his wee wee pad.
How old is Mou Mou now?

hey everyone....

need some advice here. When we sleep @ night, do ur poodles sleep along or they are active?
I'm havin a tough time with Bruno coz he's very active during the night. I'm having many many many sleepless nights coz he's constantly barking 2 wake me up 2 play with him or carry him up 2 b with me.
I used to ignore him but his barking is getting louder n louder day by day. Tried punishing him already still not working.... He'll keep quiet when he's being punished but once release / let go, bck 2 self again. doh.gif

Will the fact that he's alone in d noon when I'm @ work, he sleeps and when I'm bck, he's superb active? I'm always make it a habit to play with him for 1 1/2 hours b4 bed time to used up all his energy but seems to last til 2 - 3am only. Then he's up and active again....

Help? sad.gif

u must ignore him during the nite when he is not supposed to disturb u. bark louder n louder, pretend u dun hear anything, if u layan him, habis tongue.gif he wil knows barking get ur attentions and he wil continue doing it. So try ur best to ignore him. This works for all my dog. i used pillow cover my ears let them bark as they like, slowly when it night time, they know its sleeping time.

But I staying in apartment. I scared his barking disturbs my neighbor...... Haihz.... Will try this method n see how.... Thanks Sinv.

hey all....

I'm planning to bring Bruno for his 1st full groom. (His fur closing his eyes already).....

Where do you all normally bring your poodles for full groom? Any recommendation.....

Bruno first went to Pet Family for a basic groom and he got ear infection after that..... Don't want to bring him there anymore....

Suggestions?

Bruno has to wait until his jab completed only can send for grooming.
i send my boys to ipet or pet icon.

When i got Bruno, didn't know that its advisable not 2 bring Bruno out til he finishes his jab. sad.gif Was so worried after I got to know about the virus n etc. But he's alright so far other than the ear infection; just yeast, no ear mites. Luckily sweat.gif

As for his full groom, no worries. Will only bring him after he completes his final jab and wait another 10days. smile.gif

Just want to asked around for groomers that does good clippings.

Thanks Sinv.

Michellegew,

Temporary, you may buy your own set of grooming brushes, dog nail clippers and also a pair of scissors (not those normal/human scissors). You need a pair of scissors that can handle fine-hair. Put your dog on something high like a stool/chair. Best is the shoe rack/cabinet at the car porch (easier to clean up later). Train and slowly try to cut the fur that is covering its eyes. You may also trim other parts like feet, XXX place, buttock hole, etc. When I say trim the feet, not cut deep between the toes. Just trim those that is easy to cut, not until you hurt the dog.

Also, initial few times, the dog may squirm left and right to avoid the scissors. Prepare some dog treats and be patient to train him to sit still. You may need to hold the nose/mouth though. Once you cut the dog accidentally, it will avoid the scissors like ghost for the rest of its live.

By doing this, instead of grooming every 1-2 mths, we only send to grooming every 3-4 months. A single grooming cost more than my annual hair-cut  doh.gif

Added on April 20, 2009, 5:06 pmA proper full groom cost RM80-120 nowadays.

Hi Cute_Boboi,

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll get a grooming kit soon. tongue.gif

Hmmm, tell me about the $$$ spend on our furkids. But as long as they are healthy and good looking then I guess the $$$ doesnt matter alot. smile.gif

Planning to get Bruno fish oil. Any of you feeding your furkids fish oil?

We spent very little on clothes/fashion. Maybe just 2%.

Mostly spent on regular dog food and treats. About 50%.

Proper vet & healthcare, anti-ticks drops, jabs, pills (those heartguard, virus, mosquito bite thing, etc.) about 30%

Toys about 10%, as it always bite until spoil.  doh.gif

The remaining is grooming.

Average out, about RM80-130/mth
*
Wow! You really calculate huh?

Like Sinv, I also spend without keeping track on what I'm spending on Bruno. Haha! Bankruptcy!! sweat.gif

haihhh im in big trouble lah
brandy the naughty girl bit four LAN (internet) wires and one speaker wire, a total record of 5 wires. lucky no live ones, if not she dead already.
recently she keep biting anything and everything she can get her paws on
when i leave her in my room, she bite anything within reach (book, bags, etc)
when i tie her outside, only the lan wire on the floor within her reach, so she bite.
no matter how i keep high i keep my things, there are things that are bound to stay on the floor
i cannot supervise her 24/7
i cannot put her in playpen, shes too strong, she can dismantle the whole thing. last time i block her playpen with a speaker, a standfan, and a bin, she push til the whole standfan broke
really @@ now
all experienced dog owner, PLS ADVISE.
im soooo angry, really no idea what to do.
pls advise.

I'm also facing the same problem.... The biting.... Mine doesnt bite wire or anything else, jus my jeans and my SKIN!! I'm havin bruises / scars here n there.... haihz!! I tried biting him bck when he bite me, but no used coz he bite even harder l8r on. Tried ignoring / whacking him for biting but no positive outcome.

He has so many toys already (Half of them already cannot play already).... But yet he loves to bite me and pull my hair (Got long hair).......

Mine I guess its teething as he is only 3 months old. But izit normal that he bites me rather than his toys? I mention before and Sinv replied that everyone is here had gone through this 'torture' b4. But mine is like out of control.....
