guitars are like cars.
even brand new gibson and fenders depreciate 20% in their first yr, unless they are signature / custom shop models.
other brands are 30-60%, like squier, yamaha.
but malaysia market is the only one in the world i see which works funny

I have an DM25CEQ Ashton acoustic. It's an Australian brand but handcrafted in China. It sounds pretty good and I bought it for RM450 only. The only downer is the pickup which is sub-par but other than that, the guitar itself is a good beginner's guitar. It even has a built-in tuner which is pretty handy. There's a shop in Taipan USJ10, Subang Jaya called Acoustic Shack that sells Ashton. I bought mine there.

Regarding Martinez, I think I know which guitar that you playtested and referring to since you mentioned the price. I tested the same guitar a few days back and I am thoroughly impressed. Im hoping to pick it up to replace my Ashton. It sounds great and looks almost exactly the same as one of Martin's guitar used by John Mayer with a difference of having a cutaway.

the guys there are pretty honest... try there..

as for guitar, I had a bad experience buying my first guitar... bought from bentley, only to find it sounding like a broken record... cuz initially i tot acoustic memang sound like that... =.=" (was 16 and very noob in guitars) and i had no internet back then

Above MPH? Dude, that's Rhapsody. That's the place where Sadru and I playtested the Martinez guitar. For a Spruce top guitar, RM800 ain't that bad.

act i was quite surprise also with ashton quality 4 it's price

indeed! the sound were superb for its price! i cant even compare it to others brand whos offer the same value instead i compare it with low end taylors an martin.

i believe in my self judgment since i already travel a lot to try various kind of acoustic guitar and i settles for this ashton =)

i highly recommend people who in search for acoustic guitar to check this ashton guitar before making any decision. Im not promoting or something here but just wanted to share the gem that i had found =)
