Video and Audio settings for PS3 are separate. Which means if you set your video to HDMI you can set the audio to either HDMI or composite cable. Of course you need both connector plug in to do this. |

I don't know about the PS3 , but it works on the 360.
You have to do some modifications on the hdmi cable though to make it thin enough to slide in with the component cable... |

for 360 need to mod the av cable to fit side by side to the HDMI cable.

Or just use the stereo from the cheap 3rd party VGA cable, need not mod at all
