tripped over power cord? how ah.... last time that happened to me i was playing FF VII fighting sephiroth in his final form. my friend walked by the ps. touched the wire, stupid ol two pin plug came out. to this day im still traumatised. all wire must hide.

i think what you should do is probably do a soft reset of the system. not sure how to do it. something to do with holding the on button down for certain amount of time. it might be on the front page. but all your game data habis lah. everything gone. choose wisely.

and i play on comp screen at the same time recording the feed.

you can connect the ps3 directly to camcorder input (normally svideo/composite) and record directly. if the camcorder supports pass-through, you can resend the signal to tv for larger screens while recording the video. if not, you may have to play through the camcorder's small screen.

hey i'm planning to buy a ps3 soon..but which set is the best to buy currently? based on my survey, SG sets are a couple hundred cheaper than MY sets.. but having to send the console to singapore will be a hassle, but if the ps3 is not so problematic it may be a good buy.. so are there common problems for the ps3 so far? or is it better to buy the MY set? what about 160gb sets, how much do they cost and what country are they from?

Hi there I have a question.

I bought my 80gb PS3 back in 2007 (SG set) and recently it died on me. I think the network and wifi card died. Then after leaving it for a while, I tried turning it on again, the fan inside the unit was spinning so fast that I had to turn it off right away. I brought it to Sony MY and they say they wont fix it bcos its an SG set. So then I called Sony SG and they say its beyond repair but I can bring it in for a one-to-one exchange by paying about SGD300++ because its out of warranty.

My question is, will Sony MY support out of warranty SG sets? I don't mind paying to fix it. Anyone of you have an idea?

Are you sure Sony MY won't fix or exchange 1-to-1 with another new unit if your current PS3 unit is spoilt due to lens problem? Worse yet, paying RM300 even under warranty? 

If this is the case then people won't have confidence to buy PS3 sets... 

Ya la..PSN DLC effects sales of games hehe. I wish all PSN stores have standard DLC items..why la each region have to be different.
