guys, how long does it take to backup a ps3? i used about 45Gb out of 80gb for my ps3

when i wanna backup, it says 10 hours!! is that normal?

I backup to an USB 160GB, but its an IDE HDD....could it cause the slowness?

my ps3 just died on me after 6 mths...

was watching the dark knight ori blu ray, and after finishing it, had some trouble ejecting the disc....reset the ps3, manage to eject it...but after that, no other dics could be read anymore, just keep loading and loading, but cannot detect.....arrgghhh....

sent it to sony for warranty, and they say will take about a week to get it fixed....hope they change a brand new lens for me...mine is the cechk06 black version, 80GB.....

you guys have any idea what caused this? should not be the dark knight blu ray rite??? just plain 'lucky'??

depends on luck , sometimes its just a time for the lens itself to die & sometimes it cause by a disc itself ( usually it happens for user who played pirated CDs on the ps3 exmple : Pirated DVD & Audio )

well, my disc was the dark knight, original....

guess its time for my lens to die...luckily within the 1 yr wrranty, if not i cry.....look on the bright side, i am gonna get a brand new lens...haha

personally for me, its not luck. in fact, there is no such thing as luck in this digital world.

lens are, is a component in the optical drive that faces the issue of wear and tear. The more you use it, the faster it will tear. as simple as that.

Sony's lens (or if you want it more precise, Sanyo's, since they outsource the thing to that company) has always been shoddy since PS1 days. Remember those standing up PSONE remedies, to make it read lens?

Recordable media, should not cause any problems if used on your PS3 if
-the media is made from high quality (not those rm2 dvds)
-its burned in a very low speed. extremely low.
-not scratched what so ever.

Like Lapaq said in other thread, what good is an original DVD when its scratched to Timbuktoo...

i agree with you....but then, i only play ori ps3 games (not that many too, mostly DLC), never ever used any dvd or cd on it, and my blu rays are all ori too..the dark knight i just tore of the wrapper before watching it too...

so i guess i got a bad lens.....

damn.....
