1. isn't it funny to listen to someone's comment about a company when u r looking to expand your career? you should understand what you are getting into and what knowledge you gain from it. The more exposure you have, the more experience you have in facing this again in future.
2. wats a good manager or a bad manager? why not ask how can u b d best employee? it is often communication breakdown between team members n managers. different expectations drives different results. Mismatched expectations is the major cause of d argument. U need to clearly understand wat u need to deliver as results, what enables u to deliver the results, how do u know when u hv delivered d results.
3. what went wrong with the management? pls ask urself y u r not d manager since u think u r better than d manager.
4. r u mature enough to handle difficult situations n accept criticism from others?
5. staff attrition is normal in IT industry. D industry does not pay additional for the same set of skill sets although one may have worked in the same role and company for the past few years. There r times when as an employee, u feel u need to be paid more. They should pay u more if u r doing beyond ur scope today, but if ur scope is d same for the past 5 years, should d company pay extra 20% for d same set of skills?
Therefore, if there is nothing else for an employee to grow, they leave. Then again, did both manager n team member go through a career path planning?
6. bonuses are subjective and depends on alot of factors. P&L are subject to scrutiny and esp new units have more challenges which may be caused by cost accrual, initial investment recovery, HR capital building for skills n etc.
pls note....i'm neither an Experian staff/ex-staff nor do I know anyone there....
if any employee has got issues with their current company or managers, seek higher level management advise and escalate if necessary. Complaining on forum and b****ing won't change anything. D company wont change its ways and its governed by corporate managers who will act/execute for d company's best interest.
I never believed in managers are always right, but they are managers because the management sees them deemed fit for the role.
So to all jobseekers, it is ur own career path.
U need to understand what u want to build for ur career apart from all those pay package n benefits.
I've worked for multiple companies over d span of 15 years working to date in d IT industry focusing on IT Service Management & Managed Services....watever u wanna call it
Chinaman comp, MNCs and OGCs.........i hv met many type of bosses....some r really good...not just managers...but great leaders
some r just average managers
again......it also depend how u manage ur own boss
long winded enough.....d point is.....dont let anyone dictate ur career n growth....perform ur own due diligence of a company by finding d facts
example: comp financial statements, review d direct line managers profiles on linkedin.....many more
