u can buy even the cap ayam brand and it works..only thing is the rumble effect is not very good. So if u're using cap ayam u must disable the rumble in the game

and one more thing, make sure u buy the mem card too for the GC game.

and is the classic controller for wii works on GC game play on wii?

Correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not exactly sure:
GC game must use GC controller
Wii games use Wiimote unless they give you the option to use others
VC games use classic controller

Some Wii game played better on GameCube Wavebird, for example Mario Kart Wii & NiGHTS Journey of Dreams.

GameCube game will only work on GC Wavebird, or other GC compatible controller,
it definitely will not work with Classic Controller.

I recall reading somewhere that gamecube controller can be use to play some VC games thought.
