An easier way but will cost your USD0.99 (warning might not work with 2.2.1 for now). http://chris.pirillo.com/how-to-get-graphi...-on-the-iphone/Question: can emoji only be ready by other iphones? friends on other phones cannot read and neither can web browsers.

Emoji is available on Fw 2.2 (JB and non JB) and viewable only on iPhones to iPhones. Sadly, iPhones with Fw 2.0-2.1 and other phones will not be able to view it's proper icons.

i do not use it that often anymore since:
- iphone to iphone = mostly readable - iphone to other phone models = depends - iphone to web browsers (via twitter or facebook app) = not readable.
