Puss in Boots didn't get high attention from Malaysian due to hype from Avatar 2 and Mechamato animation.
Most of the Malay kids watching Mechamato instead of Puss in Boots. And currently our local animation studio managed to capture a lot of local audience.
The trends of watching foreign animation is going downhill to be honest. Malaysian is no longer depending with Disney, Dreamworks etc to watch animation movies/dramas.
I went to watch Puss in Boots during their first day of screening on weekend. Only 6-8 persons inside movie hall including me. It's a great movie, I enjoyed it so much, but I think only gen y and older than gen y can relate on how we enjoyed watching foreign animations.
New generation kids already exposed with local animation such as didi and friends, upin & ipin and many more.
