Hi Im pretty new here, went thru some reading in xda too.

just wondering if the flashing need to be done in WinXP or Win Vista?

The reason why im asking is Im a Win7 user but I did install Windows Mobile Device Center in Win7 and it could sync with my diamond without problem after some fussy reinstall or drivers.

I was trying to install driver for MTTY in Win7 but seems I cant get it right (driver version diff after I follow the step...) sad.gif

for malaysia, which radio patch is the best for us? does that also depends on which rom you are coupling with?

the one I use is 1.15.25.14, with Don SalariROM WWE (WinMo6.5, but I dunno is sense 2.5 or 2.1)

I tried the garmin mobileXT, it needs bout 5 mins to get connected... sad.gif is it consider slow?

I'm using the same radio too

Garmin Mobile XT you have to install the QuickGPS, Download the Quick GPS data, and in garmin use the GPS Intermediate Driver instead of Serial GPS

Now Garmin should Log in to satalite within 1 minutes during cold boot, and within 15 seconds during warm boot
Thanks bro Aavatar! great tips.. will try it out and let you know.

also found out that my HTC diamond couldnt support MIDI format ringing tone... is it common or it just depends on which ROM you are using?

to change my htc ringing tone, i did :

1. create a new folder call "my Ringingtone" in my document
2. dump all the ringing tone file to that folder
3. change to the tone I want in the sound setting

after I did all the steps, selected the file I want for ringing tone... but when someone call me, the phone will still ringing with the original default tone... and I checked the setting... changed back to default...

and I notice that my diamond actually lagged for 1-2 sec before starting to ring... shocking.gif

If you're playing music when a call comes, it's going to lag for 3-5 seconds. Normal.

your folder is storage card or in main memory. note that when diamond is connected to PC in Storage mode, the storage files cannot be used. which means your ringtone if in Storage cannot be played. therefore reverts to default. place ringtones in your main memory

Thanks for the useful feedback!

mengsuan, the lag does not cause by music, Im not playing music file when the phone call came in... Somehow I moved all my ringingtone files to device storage, I think it became quite responsive now. smile.gif

Baronic, did tried that. still not working with MIDI format ringingtone. MP3 format dont have problem. I already post a question at don's page, hopefully someone can help..... sad.gif (although its not a big deal since I can still use mp3 for ringing tone anyway)
