I've also just up 'upgraded' from my old XDA2 to TD....I also join the club...

But I dun like the TD so much..well can say my personal opinion only...

Bad points:
1. Its blardy hot..even though running using 2.03 firmware, but only happens when charging, Wifi and GPS.
2. Battery life kinda short and takes a long time to charge.
3. TF3D is a bit slow, but can live with it.
4. The calender shows only one or two lines in the TF3D which I dun like very much..one day can have 5 meetings. but I like the TF3D interface.
5. Doesn't have Cisco CKIP in LEAP for Wireless LAN configuration.
Maybe WM dun support it.
6. USB cable one of a kind...I think of getting another one.
7. SMS reply is a problem if to many sms before that. The writing box is so small.
8. Keys are too small to type with, worst are the stylus...too small, the sharp design hurts my fingers after long use.
9. Finger print magnet.
10. Speaker sound are low for calls, alarm and ringtones.
11. hmm...the GPRS on by itself if doing updates on the Weather, QuickGPS and Windows updates, you are not very sure whether you are surfing using Wifi or GRPS...so money gone there.

Good points are:
1. Nice and thin.
2. GPS is good
3. TF3D is nice (except for the limited display appointments)
Wish there was an easy way to change the TF skins...I hate to use home cooked roms. Experience using XDA tells me its best to avoid and stick to the manufacturer firmware versions.

Well, I've just used the set for a few days, maybe I'll grow to like it.

1.Did anyone manage to get a handphone holder + charger for the car...can't seem to find it in lowyat and lelong.

2.How to use the USB to connect to the internet? Everytime i do it, I goes to GPRS instead of USB..please give specific instruction...I'm using a notebook with Vista. The notebook is then connected to the modem using Wireless. Each time need to log-in to streamyx after a shut down. I need to connect the TD to the notebook and share the same internet connections.

Funny is, when I do Internet sharing, it still connects to GPRS instead of the USB even though I've stopped the activesync.

one more question...can an ordinary mini USB connector be used for the TD? If so, can I just buy any cheapo cigarette socket charger and use for car? Meaning to need to be specifically for TD.

Thanks for the info...first i wanna clear all the setting I did on my 'connection settings'. Now its so bad, even free wifi cannot access, connect yes, but cannot access.
So better start fresh before attempting to do another connection.


Loud speaker or earphone?

speakers I kinda agree, sound is so small, high frequency ones are OK, but for mids and low, even a cheopo Nokia is better.

Anyway, just got myself a HTC car charger (RM48) and a stand for the TD. Now can GPS better....but not easy to position the car kit. Nowadays, cars are built with curvy and well design dashboards.

I bought it in JB, the PDA shop wanted more, so I got it from a Novacell Shop....box and stuff inside is HTC...looks original, but who knows?

Regarding the GPS, I dun think I wanna stick my phone from the windscreen, it looks nice but the cops behind got different story...I kena saman twice oledi using handphone (my fault), so its phobia for me to show anything lighting up on the dashboard, sure kena pull over. Even though I might be in the right, I feel better avoid that hassle all together.

Abt the stylus, PDAshop wanted RM80 (!!) for the original one and RM40 for compatible version...is the price to high?

Anyone using BodyGuardz for their TD? I was thinking of getting one...but the price would be RM140 (for one pack inside got 2) incl postage.
Got lobang or not in Malaysia?
Adding leather cover just spoils its slim design.

hey, here is a picture of it mounted on my car's dashboard, the perfect place for me, clearly visible (angle to me), not too high and not too low.
Yup, I loss half of the controls to the cars radio, but as long as I've the volume,search etc knob, I'm happy.
I used an old cassette (not easy to find these days..had to ask a few friends), and used an 'L' bracket to fix to the phone holder.

yup...example like me, I bought the set 2nd hand, went to the HTC site, but really not sure what is what cause the visually not clear.

Just go to a Pda shop and say to wanna to get it done.

Please give more details on your set:
1. Soft reset...below the Touch Diamond give the details of
R, G, D. You can also access it by settings->System->Device Information.
If its the camera functions that freezing your set than it must be the firmware, you need to update it.
Here is mine:

Backup first and then do a hard reset....
But don't do it first, maybe someone else got other ideas.

hmm...I ordered PDAir casing from jameslee_84...he is doing bulk purchases now...price seems reasonable.

Trouble is, have to wait a bit for the closing date before he starts ordering

I got myself a PDAir case:

Outside material is good...inside leather lining ..not so good.
Fitting is poor, but not as poor as the RM40 ones.
Top side is slanting, front camera can view only half due to block, bottom part is also not equal...stylus also difficult to take out.

I dun recommend PDAir case, in particular this model...I dunno abt the rest..
Seems like the guy was in a hurry to make this casing...poor workmanship.
A few members also bought other type of cases from PDAir, so far they said very good, maybe I got myself a lemon.
I think I'm going to send it back..

Actually, I heard that method is for extended battery.

Also, that aluminum foil is place at the speaker location...I'm not sure why GPS should be better..

Afaik, behind that is the speaker, cause there is a mod that actually makes the speaker louder by making a hole there.
