Or, you can try the Digitech RP series which are pretty good as well.

Yup. There are many models under Zoom and Digitech that are under RM500. For Zoom, go to CK Music. For Digitech, hit up Bentley.
For RM500, you can probably get one with an expression pedal and with zoom, a USB out for home recording. But in my opinion, the Digitech one sounds much better then the zoom counter parts....... I own 2 Zoom pedals (505 and GFX5) and they both crapped out on me. |

Hi, tumpang thread a bit...
I'm also looking for a new effects since my Zoom 707 rosak (the jack port spoil... suka suka no sound come out, everytime must adjust the jack) I've tried once and fell in love with the Pod XT... but for 2 reasons I don't think I can get it... 1) it's too exp (upwards RM1.5k!!!?) 2) too many customizations that I don't think I'm pro enough to use. My friends all Line6/Pod kaki. Ask this Pod. Ask that Pod. So I need some other perspective: -I don't require a lot of funky effects. My main ones are: 1) Distortion (like evanescence's rhythm) and general lead distortion- not very picky on that, 2) clean (eric clapton - wonderful tonight) and 3) a certain effect that is hard to describe. If it's something like... fuzz? very light distortion-ish. if anyone here has heard the song Reaching For You by Hillsongs Australia (a christian song) you'll know what I'm talking about- it's used in the guitar solo. any recommendations for multi-fx models that really shine in these 3 sounds? also wah is not needed because i have a separate pedal for that already. budget-wise, i plan on keeping it below 1k... but you know, i'm exploring options here, so even if it's >1k, do post it as well. actually i just want the 3 types of tones: distortion -lead + rhythm, clean, and the light distortion-ish thing. and also a delay pedal to add to the overall sound.
reason i keep finding multifx is coz it's overall cheaper... can i really get those... 3-4 pedals for under 1k? to tell u the truth i have NEVER made any guitar stuff purchases before- all the stuff i have is handed down from my bro. ---- I think i'll use audacity to chop up the solo part to show u precisely what effect i'm talking about... will update later ---- here's the guitar solo... hope someone can help me identify the effect This post has been edited by phoenixxx: Jan 31 2009, 04:07 AM Attached File(s)

phoenixxx, you know there is a lower end models of POD units called the FloorPod (http://line6.com/floorpod/index.html?utm_source=Index&utm_medium=DropDown&utm_campaign=Floor+POD)
![]() the main diff is that there is no USB connection to upgrade the sounds or do recording with, but you get all the cool effects that you wanted. Oh, and pretty much cheaper then a full blown PODxt. |

@ajay: my zoom... the jack is already stuck in the input. i think it got spoiled when i tried to force it out (but it's stuck stiff, cant take out).
@blacktrix: this is like the pod version of the me-20! 3 stompbox + 1 pedal... how does the 2 compare? |

It sounds just like a POD..... although not as much features. But the one up on the ME-20, is that it has amp and cab simulations as well.
Amp Models • Modern Hi Gain - based on* Soldano X88R • Line 6 Insane - Line 6 Original • Treadplate - based on* Mesa/Boogie® Dual Rectifier® Tremoverb • Treadplate #2 - based on* Mesa/Boogie® Dual Rectifier® Head • Line 6 Crunch #2 - Line 6 Original • Brit Hi Gain - based on* Marshall® JCM800 • Fuzz Box - based on* Arbiter® Fuzz Face through a poweramp • Brit Classic - based on* Marshall® Plexi • Boutique #3 - based on* Budda Twinmaster • Brit Class A - based on* Vox® AC30 • Black Panel #2 - based on* Fender® Blackface Twin Reverb® • Line 6 Clean - Line 6 Original As well as other effects: Smart Control FX • Chorus • Flanger • Phaser • Tremolo • Delay • Sweep Echo • Reverb Other Effects • Noise Gate • Compressor • Distortion Boost • Wah • Volume Pedal BTW.... the pedals are to switch between effects presets (not stompbox as you said), meaning you can customize what combination of amps and effects are in a single "bank" and call them on the fly. All multi-FX pedals feature this. Added on January 31, 2009, 4:08 pmOn a semi-related note, I'm semi-GASsing for a RP1000 to manage all my stompboxes: ![]() Sounds like my dream pedal board This post has been edited by blacktrix: Jan 31 2009, 04:13 PM |
