I had too high an expectation me thinks !! It only had all the goals, Ronaldo goals, and an Ole tribute ... for such a great year, we shudve had interviews and all that in it ...

but i saw another dvd...the annual 2009 one ... does anyone have that ? i think its more personal wit the players so it shud be a good watch ... anyone recommend it ?

Yes, I'm all for having the human element in the game, but the level of officiating has gone from bad to worst in recent times. Even top referees are fumbling more often than not, and the best England could offer in the World Cup was a ref who fecked up beyond all belief. Video replays could be a solution to all these problems, but a limit must be imposed on often it can be used. Maybe once a half. And only certain calls can be contested, like a goal line clearance or a sending off. Let the forth official have a good view of it, and let him radio his decision to the ref. Ultimately, its up to the man in black and white (not anymore haha) to make the final call. Look how much good it has done to the game of tennis for example.

What were the stats like prior to the sending off? It didn't look like Pool were clear winners to me (wasn't paying much attention to the telly). A draw would have probably been pretty fair. Imo, Rafa would never have gone with substituting Mascherano out for an offensive player had they not enjoyed a 1 man advantage. Sometimes you need the rub of the green to win games, Liverpool certainly had it yesterday. Its ON then.

Gota disagree. Pool was actually playing really well ... Chelsea managed to match them in terms of tackles ... but workrate at that point, Pool was still going strong and had MUCH MUCH better chances than chelsea... 20 mins into the match, i already knew that chelsea were gona bottle it ... and i was spot on.
But the red card to lampard was the one that made the difference, cos Pool got it going and the Ski's just switched off, not to mention i think Scolari is absolutely shite !!

More than anything, i wish they drew, and if pool lost, that wudve made it sweet cos i can see chelsea is crap ... but pool have this element of luck that when theyre on a roll ... theyre on a roll ...

having sed that ... Pools gona be drawing more games cos none of the midtable team wud give chelsea that much space in the penalty box!! And beloved rafa doesnt have the antidote to the CRAZY phenomenon !!!

I think VDS breaks the British record for this game. Then if its a clean sheet against Fulham, thats the World Record

absolutely horrifying really. I dont understand how the board can be so cruel. Their decision is coming at a terrible time too! Chelsea were leading at one point in the season or at least right behind liverpools knickers ... PLUS a great majority of his squad was actually one that was inherited, and i say this with a smile, that it was a squad that is absolutely demoralised given their ending last season!!

Well smile.gif The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Chelseas digging their own grave!!

Did you guys ever think about it ? VDS is holding onto the Clean Sheet record for so long that he might have developed a state of mind whereby conceding wud be absolutely CATASTROPHIC.

My point is, Zamoras 1-2 efforts that just edged the bar made him look so rattled. And we cant keep the clean sheets forever right? What kinda psychological damage wud that have on him if and when he concedes ? *Touch Wood* ... or ... what kinda psychological damage wud that have on ALL OF US if and when we concede ? *Hugs wooden table*

SAF should assign Scholes or Giggs as a mentor to Welbeck.  nod.gif

I think one of Giggsys latest interviews, he'd talk abt the times when the youth players wud have to polish the boots of the senior squad. And that brought him down to earth. In his early years, as well all know, he was a party-macha. He didnt like it, so he changed his ways.

Sometimes its not only how u punish the player to bring him back to earth, its the humility within which takes u that extra mile. Suffice to say, not many players have that quality now.

So heres to Welbeck and hopefully a little humility will go a long way for him. As MyDevil sez, theres no better ppl in the world to learn from than Scholes and Giggs smile.gif
