I thought that maybe it was a Blizzard thing, not so much of a streamyx thing since they put up a small patch as well as 4 battlegroups having severe latency problems.

The good thing was that raiding Naxx seems more stable now. It was annoying having over 150 fps in Naxx and getting DCed during boss fights.

Not sure, my guildies are mostly from Australia and NZ and they were playing fine.

Some from Singapore has also reported some lags recently, might be something with the cable again?
*
Yeah, maybe. Some Oz guildies reported having some lag as well but mostly those who are with Internode. SG one, not frequent.

I'm just waiting out the CNY period. It's also raining heavily so that sometimes have an effect on the exchange.

yesh, I don't own level 80 toon.

I'll ding 1 sooner or later, maybe in the year 2010  laugh.gif

U know, when u said that u were kicked out of a guild, all of us thought it was a level 80 toon and wondering why the raiding guild got so strict suddenly when there is a bit of a shortage of good raiders all around.

A leveling guild that has strict attendance rules, on the other hand, adoh. Time to move on alrite.

whoa?!  I thought a guild is just a place to greet and con persuade people for dungeons and raids? tongue.gif

Yeah but you QQ more than a bit when you were kicked out because you were having latency and connection issues, no?

Most Oceanic Raiding Guilds are tolerant about the disconnections of Malaysian and Singapore players. Majority of them anyways.

Errr..it's actually in RL. I got diagnosed with high BP so had to take stock of my life and change lifestyle. Those who have met me know that I have a weight problem. Anyway, doing more exercise now and also doing some experimenting with cooking since I can't eat out as often as before.

So weekends are now my shopping + cooking experiments. Just minus the salt. I took a month off WoW to make adjustments and get used to cooking. Now got energy to play the game but not to stay up late nite (i.e. past 11 pm) for raiding.

Current cooking quest : cracking KFC's secret recipe so that I can make Fried Chicken taste like how theirs do.

I know lol! I'm looking at bake chicken with very little oil. That may work too.

Wahliaw! Well, you could try cooking Pork Leg with Guinness Stout or the halal version of Beef with Malta. The roasted malt gives it a very nice taste and how the Germans do their cooking.

As for the KFC thing, see how lah. Even a simple fried chicken or bake / roast chicken ok for me one.

The woven bacon looks nice but use lean pork in the middle lah. Kurangkan lemak!

Slightly different. Believe it or not, this was fried turkey with no oils getting soak into the skin.

I went through 1 modem, 1 mobo, 1 graphic card, about 256 MB RAM so far, 1 power supply unit, 1 voltage regulator.

I've tried UPS but the battery doesn't go beyond 2 years.

I'm now using the Belkin Voltage regulator. Very impressed that it's lasted pass the 2 year mark, coming to the 3rd year. Not cheap though.

All I can say is to check the IP that you're at.

I"m lazy to do ping test because I hate waiting more than 30 secs. After connecting onto streamyx, I check the IP's downstream and upstream rate via the modem window (using browser).

IP : 60.52 (surprisingly ok)
Downstream : At least 224, best min is 256 kbps
Upstream : 128 kbps min

I'm using Gamepath's Jaring servers and that gave me a steady connection. But I find that these days, I have to set down all my settings down to zero and just check projected textures. Good enough to raid.

Minimum adds on :
-DBM (main file + relevant modules e.g. if going to ulduar, i turn off EOE, OS, Naxx)
-XPerl
-Decursive
-Ora2
-Bartender4
-Recount (I sometimes turn this off)

If you're running as a healer, turn off Omen. You don't need it.

Well, like I said earlier, I set the video settings all down to zero BUT checked Projected Textures.

Oh, forgot to mention that I turn off sound.

And lastly, some IPs are healthier than others. Gotta get into a good IP.

imbecile : if your line not so good + pc power not good, then yes, turning off sound will help.

I play on laptop so already got limitation in that sense. New desktop maybe another year from now. smile.gif
