Got myself a VF-27 valkyrie on its way in the mail. My 1st ever macross figure ! sweat.gif
Been building gundam's all this while thought that a change might be good (love the anime to bits anyway tongue.gif )
Intend to only snap fit, decal-ling and finish it up with top-coat. Was wondering if it is crucial to get a mark setter when applying the decals? Also would the VF-27 look best with flat or semi-gloss top-coat? Seen some painted kits using metallic paint and they look awesome!

Seems that plenty of ppl bought the DX 1/60 VF-27. A lot of owners have complained about paint chips caused by the manufacturing process. Another case of bad QC sweat.gif

Koenig monster lookin awesome!
Seems that Bandai is keeping up with their DX models

Just finished assembling my 1/72 VF-27 gamma Brera custom model kit. Probably won't be getting anymore macross model kits after my experience with the lucifer. It just seems soooo...... fragile sweat.gif

Well yea its a model kit and its not meant to be played with. I've already done some damage to some of the decals and there are some stress marks on some of the tabs after trying to transform it from fighter to battroid the first time after assembly. Will probably keep it in fighter mode where it looks great and much more robust in terms of construction compared to the other modes. ANd there's no swivel joint at the knee for gerwalk mode. Grrrrrr mad.gif
But nonetheless its a really detailed kit and looks awesome as a display piece tongue.gif

DX here I come!!!

*Prays that Bandai makes an improved DX VF-25** whistling.gif

Hi i am new to macross so wanted to try out macross model kit, any place to recommend for good price?
*
Think twice man. I got myself my first macross model kit. Been building MG's and thought of trying Macross since I love the anime. A macross 1/72 kit is a great display piece but not well built to undertake numerous transformations since its a "model". If u like to play wyour figures probably its better to invest in a yamato or bandai DX macross figure. Just my 2 cents icon_rolleyes.gif

ooiyooo... drool.gif  accidentally come to this thread....very nice wor....where can get and how much? this need to cantum and paint one ah or straight away can play and display
*
Its a bandai 1/72 model kit. Think MG gundam but transformable with a less detailed inner frame (arms and legs). It is a snap-fit kit and you have a choice of stickers or water slide decals which both come with the kit. And of course it will look great if it was painted.

no lah...where got money to get the tornado pack...just a fast-pack only.. wink.gif

the nostalgic feeling was so overwhelming when i pulled out the valk out off the box...i've been longing for a macross since i was 10...just few hours ago i hold my first ever valk after wishing it for 18 years...
i've yet to take pictures of it...i don't know whether i should spam it here since i think alot of you guys already own several 25s  notworthy.gif ...mine just an ordinary one same like any others..haha

btw...im just curious...from alot of pictures that i've seen..the color on the vf-25f dx is white but mine is somewhat off-white almost blueish...new version?

yalor..elite group...Skull Squadron  whistling.gif

Fast pack movie version then

Pics yo! I've been wanting one as well. But thought of getting a Super strike VF-1S Hikaru for now. Wonder if they will reissue one soon since they've just released the anniversary version not too long ago.

The movie version VF-25F comes in an off-white colour scheme and a lighter tinge of blue for the fast packs. Quite like the colour combination myself rolleyes.gif

Yea was really excited about the TV version but I'd prefer Hikaru's black and red colour scheme rolleyes.gif
But if the local price is right I might just give in for Roy's TV VF-1S blush.gif

While I pray that a Yamato 1/60 VF-1 flies to my doorstep or if Yamato re-issues the 1/60 Hikaru VF-1S, I'd have to just make do with this for now rolleyes.gif

After building the VF-27 kit.... don't think I'll be buying any transformable VF kits in the near future tongue.gif
My VF's need to transform into all 3 modes without easily falling apart. My VF-27 just broke his "crotch locking piece" sweat.gif need to do some mods like what most ppl have done

Oh and Richard. Any chance of a VF-1S Super Strike Hikaru landing in your runway? whistling.gif

Pure poision bro....currently suffocating wub.gif

Haha the DX VF-25 does look awesome but having its gerwalk with no knee swivel is a no no for me rolleyes.gif

Actually I was more keen on getting a VF-25 messiah preferably Alto's with super parts but after awhile the poison just wore off and a more potent poison kicked in. Poison for YAMATO! drool.gif

VF-1J looks cool too but thats second on my list. Cyclops VF-1A somewhere lower in the list whistling.gif

not too late wink.gif i also interest revived after watching frontier last year smile.gif in fact, i din know there was a DYRL movie also  blush.gif  all the while grew up watching robotech only tongue.gif

Added on May 7, 2010, 11:28 am

nvm. got stand one tongue.gif haha.. kidding.. the sad part is when the metal ankles start to get loose and dun lock in place, then gerwalk becomes impossible dy...  doh.gif  but it doesnt look like bandai will revisit the mold anytime soon  sad.gif
*
I actually went the opposite way. I watched the movie first by mistake and then I started robotech sweat.gif

Yea the VF-25 looks awesome in battroid and fighter. The model kit seems to look great in both but once again...... it only manages to pull off the look of it.

Yamato should develop an off-screen transformable GBP armor for the VF-1 flex.gif

Just my opinion but I feel that the GBP armor looks great! But the fact that it can't transform is kind of a let down. The Macross Frontier Armored messiahs are fully armed yet its fully transformable in all 3 modes.

So probably if Yamato had a little extra time maybe they could think of one. Or some of those 3rd party companies like Fansproject who made the add-on kits for some of the transformers thumbup.gif

Now i get it....agree with u on that...but i can't remember whether the GBP was able to be transformed or not in the anime...
Anyhow it would be nice to fix the GBP in the other modes...

Any comments on the coming VF1S roy focker TV edition. thumbup.gif Hopefully the price will be cheaper.... Heard it is scheduled to be released in June 2010. If i'm not mistaken the TV edition will be pure white like the VF1J GBP....
*
The armor has to be ejected off the battroid for transformation. What a waste of metal sweat.gif
