hi guys...

1. is there by any chance i can get the 1/60 VF-25F here in KL? i mean off-the-shelf kinda thing..not the the pre-ordering...or is it that it's that limited that only pre-ordering would do?..and i'm not really that interested to buy online since i don't have the patience...

2. what is the price for it or the price range for it..

sorry for the stupid questions...i'm not a collector, so that explains my newbieness and this would be my first VF ever...after wishing it for 20 years...

yeah...richard kindly made an offer of what he have in stock

but unfortunately the pricetag is something that i can't afford right now...

maybe after next paycheck i will consider...

i really underestimated these VF figures because i saw alot of transformers settled in for quite an affordable range...i mean u can get takara tomy rotf optimus prime for around RM250 to RM300...so i thot these Macross collectibles shouldn't cost more than that since it's not as popular as TF..

i was so wrong....or maybe my lack of understanding of these collectibles (i don't even know what is the correct terms to addressed these things...i don't think its a toy tho) somehow shadows my perception towards em...

actually i don't really know...should i get VF-25 as my first VF?..the reason why i go for VF-25 is because it's still recent..so i thot the pricetag should be somewhat in line with the overpopulated TF collectibles...so if the VF already cost a fortune, i dont even dare asking how much the Yamatos line would cost....

damn..i've to wait for another 20 years....

no lah...where got money to get the tornado pack...just a fast-pack only.. wink.gif

the nostalgic feeling was so overwhelming when i pulled out the valk out off the box...i've been longing for a macross since i was 10...just few hours ago i hold my first ever valk after wishing it for 18 years...

i've yet to take pictures of it...i don't know whether i should spam it here since i think alot of you guys already own several 25s notworthy.gif ...mine just an ordinary one same like any others..haha

btw...im just curious...from alot of pictures that i've seen..the color on the vf-25f dx is white but mine is somewhat off-white almost blueish...new version?

yalor..elite group...Skull Squadron whistling.gif

due to i only have a cheap-ass shitty phone camera, i guess i'll wait for a better camera so that i can vf-whore my pictah here icon_rolleyes.gif

anyway. apart from the i'm fully satisfied with the dx...can't help to whine about some of the minor drawbacks of the messiah..and no it's not about the hand-swapping...i'm totally okay with that...

the tail area seems can't support the weight of the fast pack wing in booster as it keep fiddling down due to there's no support..like some kind of rod that connect the back and mid area...

one of my wing make a crack sound whenever pulling it in and out...

some joints are very stiff...

so far those are my issue with my few hours old vf...i can live with that but since i've paid alot of $$ for it..breaking some of the pegs really worried me tho...

some say bandai's is more durable than yamato...i don't know how true is that since i never touch a yamato before..so what your guys take on that?

my initial plan was..get the messiah and get over with it...i planned to only have 1 vf for the sake of fulfilling my childhood dreams...

after flying thru this thread...now i'm not so sure...and that yamato latest offering is somewhat tempting....i've made a mistake going thru this thread in the first place...

QUOTE(jediwalker @ Apr 27 2010, 05:15 PM)

the super VF-25F is still ok with me.. wait till u get the VF-25S Armored, bits n pieces of armor falling all over the place, that'll drive u nuts! tongue.gif

bandai v yamato debate never ending. both have its pro n cons. but for mac f, we got no choice, bandai's the only one with the license smile.gif

as for breakage, well, my VF-25G's arm broke on me on the first transformation. the screw at least. fortunately able to just get a new replacement screw and DIY. of coz, after a year, its a floppy mess dy...... sigh
demmit...that's 600+ bucks ALMOST down the drain...now i'm not going to touch my messiah ever again!

p/s: i'm looking for dvd copy of Macross original anime+DYRL and Macross Pluss OVA+movie...anyone knows how to get it?...no rapidshare/torrent for me as i don't have that luxury of time...or if anyone have it stored somewhere in their HDD, can i buy a copy?...i've been looking everywhere for those for ages...

guys..i need help

my yamato 1/60 vf-1j shoulder hinge cracked during transformable and it's barely a day old...

i'm so sad yo...first transformable already cracked...i know about yamato's shoulder issue but i didn't know that it is THAT BAD...and maybe also i'm too used of handling my alto's DX (with superb shoulder diecast mechanism) that i forgot yamato only used hinge for the arms...

anyone can help me with this is highly appreciated...if not i'm not gonna touch it again for the rest of my life...once the hinge patah..there goes 300 bucks down the drain

Sell your 1J wink.gif   thumbup.gif
Graham has direct contact with Yamato. Sometimes acts as a consultant in some way. The only other source is Overdrive but dunno of they still have or not.

By the way, last news I heard was Graham is travelling so not sure how soon he can respond.
*
i don't think of letting it go just yet...i really wanted 1j as my first yamato...hehe

guess that i've to live with the crack sad.gif...

update:

2nd attempt of transforming my 1J ended in disaster, stiff shoulder joint resulted me using excessive force when moving the arm...crack widening and chunk of it came off..

my VF-1J is officially broken...damn sad.gif

Wow, too bad bro...i feel u.

the good thing with Macross (to me) is u'll never satisfied with only one valk.
u'll end up having 1 in fighter, 1 in gerwalk, 1 in batroid anyway..
maybe this one destined to be in fighter.

but...it still can be fix...right
*
yea if possible i want more valk but not having 3 valk of the same model with one-mode purposes...not that rich leh sad.gif

that shoulder hinge really killed my yamato spirits la...while the anime-accuracy is excellent but the utilization of quality-questioned material really put me off la...they can diecast the T-bar..why not the shoulder hinge lo..

i think im gonna do some DIY on the hinge..anything that can put that piece of shit hinge together..

btw anyone knows how to loosen up the shoulder joint a bit..enough to move the arms around without eventually breaking it?

thanks smile.gif

hmm... but the vf-1j with super parts is the one with potentially bad shoulders  sad.gif

i guess still a good offer if u jz keep it in fighter mode...

Added on June 1, 2010, 3:00 pm

ouch... sorry to hear that.. if it's any consolation to u, the problem is pretty wide spread  doh.gif
*
yea i know...i never owned a yamato before so i don't know how serious it is...plus it's already version 2 worr..yamato still cannot addressed this issue?

like this ppl gonna say eff to anime-accuracy yamato, gimme hand-swapping, anime innacurate cekik darah Bandai DX anytime

the one coming out about now~~

oh? can share how u did it?
*
adjustable spanner to hold the assembled hinge to place and ample amount of superglue.

that do the trick.

the hinge looks very messy with the glue hardening but whatever makes the thing hold...

as for loosening the joint i refer to this website

sorry no visual-aid...hehe

I'd guess Yamato would've been wiser after the screw up with the first release!

Added on June 3, 2010, 8:14 pm

it was cool in the beginning, but after awhile they tend to crack and fall off, even when left alone  doh.gif
...i had to wipe them off my vf-1a
