QUOTE(evanrue @ Jan 30 2009, 07:53 PM) the Yamato Vs. Bandai battle will never end; in the early days of macross, fans prefer the Bandai "rugged" and durable valkyries. Then Yamato came up with their perfect transformation and "classy" looking valks, at the cost of questionable material used that caused breakages.. Absolutely agree with your points bro..... over time, during the years that Bandai have been IGNORING Macross (despite them having the license for the TV series and Macross 7), Yamato has been feeding fans with superb offerings, and finally, very solid valkyries (their v2 1/60 VF-1x and Destroids are truly a marvel).. as they say, we've been Yamato'ed, for better or worse (less 'worse' now) then, out of the blue Bandai strikes back with Frontier and their 'durable' VF-25.. the good part is the toy is now playable without worry of breaking parts due to overplay. the bad part is they are forcing Yamato fans to choose between two undesirable options: 1. anime-accurate: then go for 1/72 snapkit 2. durable toy: go for 1/60 DX both are undesirable for Yamato fans; both are not perfect transformation, and the one that is anime accurate is not to scale with other valkyries in their Yamato's collection. Of course, if they are rich, they can just buy all of them. but most would prefer not to have multiple copies of the same valkyries/mechas (colour variations are something else of course; but if you have 2 Alto's VF-25? that's overkill for moderate-income collectors) Also, lots of people defends the 1/60 DX VF-25 by saying it is durable and cheap. err..it is durable but it is ANYTHING but cheap. the price of a DX VF-25 together with fast pack has already reached about RM800 (about).. If Yamato was to produce the VF-25, i think the price would be almost the same (and you get anime-accuracy and looks to boot).. i meant no offence to DX VF-25 owners, just that i think Bandai is hoodwinking fans into thinking their product is worth the price.. i hate the Bandai DX team ..but i do love Bandai's SOC line, hehe Added on February 1, 2009, 1:58 pm QUOTE(evanrue @ Jan 30 2009, 08:06 PM) if you are buying all those in this year bro, i salute you Well, too bad thats no turning back for Big Macross Fans like us bro......have to start eating Roti Kosong & Ais Kosong in order to get all Yamato Macross.....LOL!!!!!!well said, bro.... we have expensive hobbies This post has been edited by Eywh77: Feb 1 2009, 01:58 PM |

Added on March 16, 2009, 6:28 pm yes I got Ozma DX along Alto
Ajis, u can always check at Cineleisure, the shop name call Shioktoys....His price is very reasonable & fair. I bought most of my Macross there. Added on March 17, 2009, 10:07 am QUOTE(Kamarul_Legal @ Mar 16 2009, 10:17 PM) Well, I would say, it depends, like myself, 80% of my collection was bought from Time Machine, some are cheap and some are exorbitantly high, I'm certain Derrick and Cindy of time machine, on seeing my desire to get my hands on all Yamato stuff have at times resulted in them quoting quite a high price for me, although i do resent this BUT I and I think most of us have to agree as what that have been mentioned by Ajis that they have the items we want in ready stock, Im certain that there are certain quarters of us who could pace themselves and wait for a good deal to come by but for another quarter like me for example, who just cant wait another minute to carry the item that we want home, its not that money is not an issue but it is truly satisfying knowing that there is a place u can go where u stand a very good chance of being able to find what u want there, pay the money and carry it home the very same day. Well, that was a long sentence and Yup! Just my 2 cents. Bro, to be honest....Time Machine ain't selling cheap. I stop buying from there since i found Shioktoys at Cineleisure (The Curve). This post has been edited by Eywh77: Mar 17 2009, 10:07 AM |

Added on March 17, 2009, 11:05 am yes, that's the first place that I look out for toys, and next stop is Time Machine..cos Cinelesure is nearby
heheheh......i'll be going there later to collect my VF-1D. Added on March 17, 2009, 12:09 pm I wonder why the toys here are so expensive compare to Singapore. Over there you can find a building selling toys at China Town square. I usually get my friends to buy the toys and then bring back for me later.
Ya.....agreed with u bro, China Twon Square really can get good deal for Macross. I got my VF-1J V2 Hikaru at about RM 350 with Super pack. This post has been edited by Eywh77: Mar 17 2009, 12:09 PM |
