QUOTE(Nitrous @ Jun 17 2009, 01:57 PM)
Hi guys
I m a Macross Fan as well, would like to ask if anyone knows where to get model kit assembled and painted properly?
I have 2 set of Macross II kits, one with standard SS kit and the other the VF-2JA custom built kit.
I m looking for quite an expert model kit assembly person to put the kits together for me (don't mind paying), though he has to be reputable and reliable, as these custom kits are hard to come by. Furthermore, the kits are transformable kits, which makes things a bit hairy for novices....

Thanks for the advice guys..

Hmmm...i think if you post in the gundam thread sure got some ppl interested to help you? At XL-SHOP i believe BAKUC champion Eric/Erix is willing to do commisssions. Call XLSHOP and ask if they still have this service.

yes, see you guys next 2 weeks biggrin.gif

guys, need your opinion here, does it worth if I buy Koeing Monster for RM736?
*
Hmmm.... depends how desperate you are for it i guess. Original price was RM300-500, can't really remember. IMHO its not worth RM736 as a toy but since there seems to be some kind of rarity attached to it now, people are willing to pay expensive price for it.

just got my thunderbolt..its beautiful piece indeed biggrin.gif any tips in how to pull the lower heatshield? and should I remove the sponges under the cockpit?
Yeah remove the sponges.

And lower heatshield, just yank it up until it clicks. Needs practice since the lower heat shield is kind of small.

*
I'll be there from start to finish i guess....since i have to jaga the booth. Do come and keep me company. Duduk situ whole day can be boring. LOL. If anyone can sponsor me a 24 " LCD monitor for 2 days to display Macross Frontier and misc Macross vids, please let me know.

QUOTE(akachester @ Jul 8 2009, 03:46 PM)
Wanted to ask you guys, i am assembling the VF-25 Michael Custom now and realise they come with 2 different type of decals. And some parts need to be decaled first before the whole thing is finished. Are both the same? Only difference is one is water slide and one is normal decals right? Which one do you guys recommend to use?
*
If you are beginner i recommend the normal stickers. The water slide ones are very very very fragile and will easily come off especially when you transforms the thing alot.

QUOTE(akachester @ Jul 8 2009, 05:51 PM)
THanks alot for the tip there. So, they are actually the same exact sticker? The one with blue background is the waterslide one right? Well, i had play around with waterslide decals before on Tamiya Car Models but those are very long time ago tongue.gif Just wondering would the water slide one look nicer than the normal version.
*
The water slide decals need precision cutting and care because when they come off the sheets, they have some excess parts so it doesn't fit perfectly on the model. You will need alot of work to cut the decals up.

The stickers on the other hand are cut perfectly and will fit the model nicely. But true model builders will prefer decals over the stickers since they are thinner and conform more to the model's surface.

QUOTE(ajis @ Jul 8 2009, 06:24 PM)
that event is more than just Macross right? probably gonna be there from the start smile.gif

Thanks for the tip bro. You have been alot of help. I am not a fan of those stickers actually especially having tried those supplied in Gundam Kits. Just made the kit look a tad too fake. tongue.gif So, probably going to give the water slide a try here. Anyway, is Mark Setter necessary? Where can i get it around Selangor/KL?
*
Honestly, the stickers in the bandai kit are very good and not like the gundam kits ones. But if you're ready for alot of blood and tears using the waterslide decals, get ready. XD
