Alright, i'm making a Flash Card like homebrew for the psp. This application would make the learning process of children much more easier and interesting. I actually programmed it for my younger brother adding his favourite cartoon characters and Mr.Bean and so on. If any of you guys want a copy of this for your young ones, drop me a PM, or just ask me somewhere lol. It's not complete yet, still adding some words that we use on a daily basis. It's not a release really, just wanted to share tongue.gif

Here are some screenshots of it. Of course, it's not very sweet looking or what, but this is just the main concept of it. I'll try to add in more graphics to make it blend better.

Old version (not to be released)

New version

The new version uses fonts instead of images which makes it much more faster and better.

UPDATE : Alright, here it is. I've completed it, and the second screenshot (above), is how it looks it. It contains about 69 words that we use on a daily basis. It should be a fun learning process for your child or your brother/sister. Have fun!!

Controls

Very simple. Press R shoulder button to go to the next word, and press L shoulder button to go to the previously viewed word. Also, once the word reaches the end (number 69), it'll blit some credits, and it'll return back to one.

This is actually a pretty neat idea. I find your home brew ideas pretty amazing.

Hope your project will show some major progress and actually reach to the main stream.

You know like a deck of cards (big ones), with words on it. You then flash it to your young ones, teaching them the spelling of it, when it's used in a sentence and so on.

Very cool. Can share it with me. My toddler only use my psp to watch "wall-e", "shrek", and "kungfu panda". This will be a very good alternative. Very educational.

No problem man smile.gif

Also, i should make it clear that this program uses very simple English words that we use in our daily like with very little graphics to enjoy. It's just plain text blitted to the screen in both uppercase and in lowercase forms. You press the R trigger, and it skips to the next word and so on. smile.gif

Alright, i've ditched the old idea of blitting images one by one and instead am using fonts to display texts in different colours to save memory. Using to many images causes the psp to freeze unexpectedly and it can get quite irritating. A screenshot of it will be posted later today. And i'm pretty sure i'll be able to pack this application up in a couple of hours.

Alright, here's an update on my FlashCard program.

The basic structure and graphics are all done. Fonts are working well, and there doesn't seem to be any memory problems. I'll add new words, (Up to 50 words i think), include themes (Hopefully), and then i'll release it. smile.gif
