Maybe a nice bag for his 2nd gf (the LX3), the leather one? (Rm200-300) or an external flash ($$$ though ) , or Adaptor + Lens (RM160++ up)

Imo, it's all up to what is he taking or what he likes to take. As for me, I'll put the flash as priority, and lens wise, Tele first, coz LX3 24mm is wide enough for "normal"/casual shooter. I feel that LX3 zoom is a bit short and I will like to try the Tele + the Wide 2.0 Aperture to see what's the outcome.

Anyway, it's all very personal. And I am going to get all (Adaptor + Tele + Wide + CPL + UV) except the fish eye (doesn't suit me yet - maybe one day soon it will ) I'm Shopping around now. Still looking for a good flash that fit within my budget.

Just do a search, there're a few helpful and reliable seller here in this forum.

I am trying to get a bag for my new LX3 too. I will put on a Pandabase adapter + tele/wide lens, so original bag will not fit.

which bag fits better?

I am looking at Crumple? But...1 or 2 million fits better? Anyone knows?

Definitely! If it is suitable for idiot like me, it will work for everyone The iA is superb that makes u shot "almost like" a pro. As u gain experience, it has tons of fun for u to play with. And if u turn pro one day, u can still use it as a very good Macro camera (instead of carrying an extra Macro lens that is $$$, hard to use, and as big as the LX3)

The 24mm wide and very fast lens can take very nice indoor shoots. Although the zoom is quite limited, u can always get a very cheap Tele add on to extend it (but I seldom use mine though). Landscape is superb with very nice and rich color even in iA mode.

If u do notice, a lot of LX3 owner is very experience DSLR user that use it as a casual camera, or to complement their DSLR.

A warning though! the iA works very well that makes me get lazier day after day. So one day I'll become newbie again!

Play with it, and discover the fun of photography. If u really into it, and reached the bottleneck, then it's the time to upgrade to a DSLR (or Micro 3/4? and still keep the LX3 as ur memories.

I'm looking for a flash too. The adapter blocks the flash. With Converter (both Tele and Wide) on is even worse! But luckily I seldom need to on the flash

Thanks for the reply bro. The shop at my place doesn't have 2 Mil, it has 3 mil only. surprisingly I was told 3 mil is smaller than 2 mil.

Anyway, just an info. REI is having a discount on Crumpler 2 mil Dollar Home. The cheapest I even seen. Sadly it is in US, and I do not know if importing it is subjected to Tax, and buying one only will have postage > then the beg!! (still cheaper if no tax)

I am thinking of getting a LC-1 for my camera too. But worried Coz will need to take it off very often for my Lens adaptor for the Tele/Wide lens.

I prefer the one that snaps on the ring, not glued on. But probably not that easy to mod. Will get one soon and get my hands dirty. Hope I can make it right the first time or else it will be $$ experiment

I think I'll need to try that. The display on LX3 is cheating. Always look very nice, but look dull on monitor.

I got it from Panasonic, using my e-Voucher. Price is RM157. I dun want to risk my camera using OEM battery.

Keep using it! Don't store a good piece of equipment in the cupboard. Using it often will keep it in good condition and free of fungus


No offend, Just joking actually I keep my SLR in a Tupperware. Air tight so it keeps fungus out.

I agreed with both.. I got a hard case that comes with my purchase - but I can hardly close the zip with the next strap on. I am forced to chose either one when taking my camera out - strap or bag.

I intend to buy 2 more begs,
1) for LX-3+ Pandabase Adapter with filter (no idea which beg fits that, Crumpler 1 million? Bundle "L"? Lowepro Apex ?);
2) another for LX-3 with Adapter with filter on + Tele and Wide convertion lens + another filter, 1 spare battery, 1 memory card, 1 more filter. lenspen (thinking of Crumpler 2/3 million, Lowepro Apex 110)

Headache coz there is no shops selling these beg anywhere near me. Can't have a check to see which one fits. Too risky to buy online and later find out too big/'small.
