QUOTE(venicelim @ Aug 4 2009, 04:03 PM) hello, all the LX3 owners there, wow! such a sweet gf I hv a ques here my bf is using the LX3 black color. & I would like to buy some gadgets for him. for beginner, which gadget is needed the most? fisheye? tele? wide lens? UV filter? external flash? diffuser? which one is needed most and which one should i buy for him? & u guys pls provvide me advice, together with the recommended place of where i can get the gadget or any forumers u recommend for me to buy the gadget from.. tkz Maybe a nice bag for his 2nd gf (the LX3), the leather one? (Rm200-300) or an external flash ($$$ though Imo, it's all up to what is he taking or what he likes to take. As for me, I'll put the flash as priority, and lens wise, Tele first, coz LX3 24mm is wide enough for "normal"/casual shooter. I feel that LX3 zoom is a bit short and I will like to try the Tele + the Wide 2.0 Aperture to see what's the outcome. Anyway, it's all very personal. And I am going to get all (Adaptor + Tele + Wide + CPL + UV) except the fish eye (doesn't suit me yet - maybe one day soon it will Just do a search, there're a few helpful and reliable seller here in this forum. |

I am trying to get a bag for my new LX3 too. I will put on a Pandabase adapter + tele/wide lens, so original bag will not fit.
which bag fits better? I am looking at Crumple? But...1 or 2 million fits better? Anyone knows? |

QUOTE(arkxkra @ Aug 20 2009, 01:37 PM) thinking on getting a camera, see some review and etc, and it look quite powerful, is lx3 suitable for newbie? Definitely! If it is suitable for idiot like me, it will work for everyone The 24mm wide and very fast lens can take very nice indoor shoots. Although the zoom is quite limited, u can always get a very cheap Tele add on to extend it (but I seldom use mine though). Landscape is superb with very nice and rich color even in iA mode. If u do notice, a lot of LX3 owner is very experience DSLR user that use it as a casual camera, or to complement their DSLR. A warning though! the iA works very well that makes me get lazier day after day. So one day I'll become newbie again! Play with it, and discover the fun of photography. If u really into it, and reached the bottleneck, then it's the time to upgrade to a DSLR (or Micro 3/4? |

Added on August 23, 2009, 11:57 pmI'm looking for a bag. Anyone knows if Crumpler 2 Million Dollar Home is too small or too big for: - LX3 with Pandabase Adapter - 1 Tele lens - 1 Wide lens - 1 PL filter - 1 extra battery This post has been edited by reader: Aug 23 2009, 11:57 PM |

QUOTE(nTHtoSEy @ Aug 24 2009, 12:26 AM) shud be more than enuf... Thanks for the reply bro. The shop at my place doesn't have 2 Mil, it has 3 mil only. surprisingly I was told 3 mil is smaller than 2 mil.a Lowepro TLZ mini is enough to put all that...so i think Crumpler 2 Million shud be able to do the job..why dun u just go have a look at the shop? Anyway, just an info. REI is having a discount on Crumpler 2 mil Dollar Home. The cheapest I even seen. Sadly it is in US, and I do not know if importing it is subjected to Tax, and buying one only will have postage > then the beg!! (still cheaper if no tax) http://www.rei.com/outlet/product/791295 Maybe someone wanna do a bulk? It is good for DSLR too. |

QUOTE(Shinichi @ Aug 24 2009, 10:55 PM) Hi all, may I know is it easy to remove Ricoh LC-1 from LX3? Will it wears out the thread after prolonged plug-in and removal or LC-1? I am thinking of getting a LC-1 for my camera too. But worried Thanks There r some ingenious guys out there who did the mod with the "ring" on, hence no worries about damaging the thread: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp...essage=30412354 http://www.flickr.com/groups/843626@N22/di...57617121359649/ http://www.dchome.net/viewthread.php?tid=608518&extra=page=1 (in Mandarin) http://www.flickr.com/photos/12396591@N06/...57616182660321/ I prefer the one that snaps on the ring, not glued on. But probably not that easy to mod. Will get one soon and get my hands dirty. Hope I can make it right the first time or else it will be $$ experiment |

QUOTE(PCHo @ Aug 28 2009, 05:11 PM) The LX3 under-exposes your shots in general. Thanks! I'll try that. This was hailed by some to be a good feature. Coz it helps maintain more details in the highlight areas especially during daylight shots. If you wish to have great shots right out of the cam, try laichong's suggestion and set your EV compensation to +1/3 EV. Your shots will come out much punchier, though u risk losing a bit of detail in the highlights. Take control of your cam to get great photos, dun let the cam control you. |

QUOTE(Shinichi @ Aug 31 2009, 08:16 PM) Hi all, how do you keep your LX3 when not in use? Keep using it! Don't store a good piece of equipment in the cupboard. Using it often will keep it in good condition and free of fungus I keep mine in LX3 factory box and put the whole box inside my cloth closet (dried cloths of course). Is this okay? No offend, Just joking |

QUOTE(lejoant @ Sep 1 2009, 11:22 PM) just wana ask u guys how do u carry ur lx3 usually? do u attach the neck strap and carry it around ur neck? do u put it in a bag? coz its quite hard to fit in the pocket :/ QUOTE(SunofaBeach @ Sep 2 2009, 12:43 AM) I agreed with both.. I got a hard case that comes with my purchase - but I can hardly close the zip with the next strap on. I am forced to chose either one when taking my camera out - strap or bag.I intend to buy 2 more begs, 1) for LX-3+ Pandabase Adapter with filter (no idea which beg fits that, Crumpler 1 million? Bundle "L"? Lowepro Apex ?); 2) another for LX-3 with Adapter with filter on + Tele and Wide convertion lens + another filter, 1 spare battery, 1 memory card, 1 more filter. lenspen (thinking of Crumpler 2/3 million, Lowepro Apex 110) Headache coz there is no shops selling these beg anywhere near me. Can't have a check to see which one fits. Too risky to buy online and later find out too big/'small. |
