Hi there... first time posting here but I've been reading for a while. Will be the proud owner of a 16GB 3GS soon (fingers crossed) and looking seriously at the Sena Magnetflipper. Anyone here with experience using this case?

Welcome to the club. If you ask me, the minimum protection you should have is a shield and there are many in the market ie. Invisible Shield(IS), SGP Shield and Bodyguardz(BG), etc. Do a survey and see which you prefer. The downside however is, if you have it on, you may not be able to slip the iPhone in the type of case you are eyeing. However, you can with most silicone cases.

Suggestion....go through this thread, it's very informative.

Thanks. I've looked through this thread and it's been very helpful. Did find that most of the members here prefer the hard/silicon style casing. I agree they show off the phone way better but I need something I can throw in the handbag and not worry about the screen getting scratched by all the junk I carry in it. rolleyes.gif That's why I'm thinking of the Sena and a good screen shield, maybe the Martin Fields if I can find one.

Handbag? Oh, you are a lass?!

Then your choice is pretty sensible but the downside, as I said, is you can't have a shield on. But another one you have is to get a silicone or whatever casing you desire which will protect your phone from even knocks and drops; and get a pouch like Golla and the like which will prevent potential damages when it is in your handbag.
*
Yup, a wee bonnie lass biggrin.gif. I've always thought that the SGP / Zagg shield was like a "laminate"/shrink-wrap type of clear plastic film - it doesn't add that much bulk onto the phone, does it? How durable are they anyway - have read that they'll peel off and yellow after a while which was the main thing that put me off the idea in the first place.

My nephew was using a similar one. No, it does not hurt your phone. But if you intend to use it portably, it may not be too suitable as it is loose connecting to the phone.
*
I second that opinion since I'm using one for the iPod Touch. The battery life is actually quite good since it manages to charge my Touch from near zero to full two times before giving out. My solution to the loose connection problem is very low tech though - all you need is a couple of rubber bands snapped on while the phone is in ur bag / pocket. blush.gif

When I said portably, I mean on the run. So, having some rubber bands securing the charger to the phone and attending to calls is hardly the image you want projected when it is an iPhone you are using. sweat.gif
*
Heh, now you know why I keep it in the bag biggrin.gif Having said that, I'm using it on the Touch but I can't imagine relying on it for backup power (rubber band style) for my day to day use of the iPhone. I'd splurge on a Mophie if portability turns out to be a big deal since the iTrip doubles up as a charger in car.

@tinkerbel, i saw the website that u recommended. The price is quite hefty. how good is the quality? i am interested in the magnetic flapper or something like that. just one question, will the magnet affect our iphone in anyway? coz last time i use to have a magnetic pouch and it will auto activate or auto answer the phone due to the strong magnet.
*
I've been using a magnetic flip-up case with the Touch for the past year and so far so good. Not sure if that's the same with the iPhone. In any case, I'll be able to give you first hand info soon - waiting for my Sena Magnetflipper to arrive in the mail smile.gif . Yeah, it's pretty expensive but I've used their cases in the past and they are really well made.

Have also used Morphie Juice Pack Air. The downsides are:

2. Putting it on and taking it off will cause scratches to the phone somehow

Check out iLounge.....

Eeks, major downside for sure. Will the iPhone fit into the pack with a shield on?

Again very subjective.....

You willing to pay say RM80 for one? You prefer clear, mirror or matte? Hope you get my drift.
*
RM80 for a screen protector? If it's good, why not? But now you've got me curious about which one it might be. hmm.gif

Anybody could recon any flip-up/down leather case? Is Sena case available locally?
*
You can get it direct from Sena online. Shipping is pretty fast and reasonable.

Does anyone have this experience with the screen protectors that come with the Switcheasy cases? I got the Colors with the iPhone today and after installing the SP that came with it, the screen shows a "rainbow" pattern.

If it's anything like the one they enclose with the Colors, then you definitely need to get another one. The one I got was poor quality and had the rainbow effect. sad.gif

I installed Steinheil Crystal Clear SP on my Iphone.. this SP is da bomb!! After trying out 4 other SPs, this one is the absolute best.. If you installed it well, it will appear as if the SP is not there.. It is that clear!! I shouldn't have wasted my money with the other SPs and went straight to Steinheil.. really superb and worth every cent..
*
I've been hearing very good thing about this SP. Where did you buy yours from?

Just wondering if anyone here has bought from momoboxx before. The pricing for their cases is very attractive smile.gif

I have bought a few stuff from one Alex who is supposed to represent them. Yeah, their pricings are reasonable. However, if you were to do a walkabout in the shopping malls, you may find some of the same stuff at even lower prices.
*
You're probably right but there aren't many places to go to in Penang that sells iPhone accessories. I'm looking for the Candyshell and so far no luck around these parts.

Got the Speck Candyshell I ordered from momoboxx and it rocks ! Even though it adds some bulk to the phone, the overall feel is still very sleek and sturdy. The Colors I've been using for the last week is a good case with plenty of grip but it kept getting caught in my pocket at work. I was considering a slider case but the girl at Switch advised me against it if I was going to carry the phone in my pocket - they apparently come apart very easily.

So first impression - I'm liking this case a lot but this needs to be verified in the real world (aka work) tomorrow. A couple of things that needs getting used to - the power button is pretty stiff right now so it takes a bit of finger strength to work it and the case feels really slippery in the hand so I'm gonna have to be a bit more careful about not dropping the phone.

So,until Christmas (at least) this is going to be favourite case. Heh! rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

Is the case made of metal? I thought it's hard plastic with a metallic colour coating.

Hello.

Anyone can recommend me which switcheasy case is good?

Still haven't get a case for my phone.
*
Depends on what style you're looking for. I've used the Colors and it's a good silicone case - plenty of drop protection but catches a lot of lint. Saw the new Torrent and it looks really nice. Kinda like the Capsule Neo but with a better grip and brighter colours. Maybe you can check that out.

Say, how much did you get your Colors for?
I'm trying to find out how much is the RRP, but can't seem to find it at EpiCentre nor at Machines..
(bought mine off eBay)
*
Got it for RM80 from Switch in Penang. I think the RRP is RM89. They carry most of the Switcheasy range there including the new Torrent, Reptile and Vulcan. smile.gif
