QUOTE(doomx @ Sep 14 2009, 07:09 AM) any casing like the incipio feather or air jacket but covers the chrome bazel complete? was thinking of using rebel serpent but heard that is it bulky your phone is prone to scratches no matter what type of casing you use, if small particles managed to slip into the space between the case and your phone. that's what i've experienced with Rebel. even with such full protection case, the chrome bezel is still prone to small lil scratches. |

QUOTE(Shoki @ Sep 15 2009, 11:30 PM) I'm wondering how often do I need to change shields like IS and BG. My SGP Shield is starting to peel off. After 1-2 months. when the edges start to peel off, try to use some water and apply on the edges and stick it back. do it before the edges start collecting dusts/particles. it worked in my case. been using it for almost 3 months plus.or get a silicone case without taking off the shield. |

no wonder it looked 'special'. for the SGP/IS/BG, the one you're requesting are those for the sides? i've used up mine. |

QUOTE(neekun @ Sep 21 2009, 04:48 PM) I dont think can fit the Colours silicon case once the SGP is applied. For me I prefer Colours. SGP case does not cover the chrome bezel if I am not mistaken. QUOTE(jssl @ Sep 22 2009, 02:22 AM) aiks, i thought silicon case will be quite 'flexible' compare to hard case err actually even when your iPhone is on any type of body shield (IS, BG, SGP), it will still fit into any sorts of silicone cases as those cases are quite flexible. tested on SE Colors and ones from Incipio. so should be fit in after i apply that 'super thin' SGP shield? |

QUOTE(mememe12 @ Sep 25 2009, 02:40 PM) erm.. how bout mirror effect? the pro is 1) mirror effect 2) ppl sitting beside u hardly can see what u do in your screen.. but con is it cause the screen dimmer right? mirror ones are quite fingerprint/smudge-prone i must say. and you'll have to turn up the phone's brightness to near max to get better view of the screen. not to mention the poor sunlight legibility. |

QUOTE(pinksapphire @ Sep 26 2009, 03:28 PM) I'm looking at Switcheasy Capsule Rebel (not sure why I wasn't interested last time) and Griffin Wave. I really need to have some ease of mind for drop protection as the one I'm using now covers only the back part. I made a search here and seems like Rebel can trap dirt easily and have the iPhone scratched inside out, is this true? Also, the sagging issue. that's true for Rebel. had mine and sold it off after nearly a month of usage due to scratches made on my i3G's chrome bezel. i'm not too sure about Griffin Wave but you can try iClear. a pretty good case. And what do you guys think about Wave? on another note, saw both Incipio DermaShot and Feather at Switch, Queensbay Mall today. unable to make my decision on which one to choose due to the SGP shield attached. |

QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Sep 26 2009, 11:29 PM) So you reckon which case that have the same protection as rebel? How about Capsule NEO but is very tedious step of installing it. Snapping in or slide it in? which is preferred type of hard case protection? QUOTE(PeeEl @ Sep 27 2009, 12:43 PM) IMHO, hard cases though handsome looking should be avoided as they can and inadvertently will scratch the chrome bezel of your iPhone. More so for the sliding in types. My personal preference would be the silicone ones where they not only cover and thus protect the whole chrome bezel, they subject the phone to lesser possibilities of scratches. And there are nice ones out there in the market. iSkin, PDAir, More, to name a few. QUOTE(PeeEl @ Sep 27 2009, 02:47 PM) All cases add bulk. You can't escape from that. Having said that, some of the silicone cases are not as bulky as some hard cases which I am advising against. Added on September 27, 2009, 2:49 pm Oops, I forgot! Yes, most of the silicone cases do give you better grip as they are somehow anti-slip. QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Sep 27 2009, 04:11 PM) How about boomwave silicon case? i do agree with bro PeeEl. hard cases somehow will end up scratching your beloved iPhones (once dusts and particles managed to slip into the small gap between the phone and the hard case) and they do add an amount of bulk. silicone cases do too but not to an extent of the hard cases. and silicone cases do provide a very good grip. and i mean very. unlike hard cases. But hard case gives us the advantage of protection during accidential drop. Where silicon case just to avoid bezel being scratch. Now I'm confuse on which to choose from switcheasy capsule rebel serpent or capsule neo. my take on silicone cases will be SwitchEasy Colors and Incipio DermaShot (getting one myself this coming weekend). @jimmylim85: yes. hard cases do provide the drop protection. hence, in short. it's more like a give and take situation. hard cases = drop protection but less grip and bulky. silicone cases = less drop protection but more grip and less bulky. body shields = zero drop protection (protect against scratches only), but zero bulk and offers grip. |

QUOTE(pinksapphire @ Sep 27 2009, 11:44 PM) Saw this in the thread too and was wondering how is it like, but don't know why cant get a single result on this case on youtube... teikwing, I supposed you came back to Penang for the weekend? Hehe...thanks for the feedback earlier. Was gonna get Rebel but after the scratchy issue, better not. I've seen reviews on Wave and although it's nice, but there's downside to it too. Sigh. I guess we just have to take chances. Will Incase Slider cause scratches on the inside, peeps? QUOTE(megatron007 @ Sep 28 2009, 12:15 AM) so many "invisible" sheild out there which one u guys reco for easy apply n good protection sum ppl said capcase is best n sum said SGP hmmmm QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Sep 28 2009, 02:39 AM) Based on hard case shell. I listed two : Griffin Nuform (Slide type) and Speck CandyShell (push in) which is better protected and take care of the arylic back case of iphone? QUOTE(pinksapphire @ Sep 28 2009, 10:25 AM) Heya, thanks for your reply. The scratches that I mentioned are those made to your phone inside out due to dirt trapped inside. If I'm not mistaken, teikwing sold his because of this reason. But yeah, the design is quite eye-catching, hehe... @jimmylim85: if u did some search on reviews on CandyShell (try itsmemorpheus from YouTube), you'll find that it has some issues on the rubber edges where it tends to break up/split. @megatron007: tried most body shields and i can conclude that SGP shield is the best. @pinksapphire: Incase Slider users do report on some scratches from the inside too. i guess most hard cases will. why not you opt for silicone cases such as SwitchEasy Colors or Incipio DermaShot? they're pretty good. OT: i'm currently working in Penang. |

QUOTE(sideways @ Oct 2 2009, 11:57 AM) Hello guys, i'm currently using a 'fingerprint free' version of the screen guard but it messes up the screen quality. The lights are distorted somehow. My wife is using a 'clear' screen guard but the sensitivity seemed compromised a little. Wanted to change to the 'clear' ones but there is just so many around. Cheap ones selling cheap, good ones selling expensive, cheap one selling expensive & maybe good ones selling cheap too! With so many variances in the market ranging from RM6 in LYN - RM35 outside, i have a tough choice deciding, so i thought maybe there are a lot of iphoners that face the same issue too. So starting this thread to get some feedback on the brands (if u still remember) or sellers that you got it from. Hope to have some good feedbacks. Thank guys & gals QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Oct 2 2009, 01:09 PM) Currently I'm using switcheasy clear screen protector. Is very good and less finger prints if light swipe on the screen. Since it give two piece for free which is great but first piece damaged due to reapply fail. @sideways:just get one from SGP like what D-Zire suggested. spend more on quality ones rather than those cheapo RM5, 10 screen protectors. they get scratched up easily. been using SGP's for couple of months and still, zero scratches, not even hairlines. @jimmylim85: my SwitchEasy's SP lasted me less than a month. |

QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Oct 2 2009, 04:39 PM) What happen to your switcheasy sp? Can't resist scratches? The sgp sp, which version? The clear version at rm 50 for two pieces or sgp anti fingerprint rm 60 for two. err they are quite prone to scratches i must say. i'm using the one that comes with SGP Shield, should be the crystal clear version.QUOTE(denzel88 @ Oct 2 2009, 07:20 PM) I'm currently using SGP clear sp and I got a small scratch on it. Anyone knows what brand of Clear SP is 100% resist to scratch? i don't think there's ever any SP which is 100% resist to scratch. it's matter of where are they more/less prone to scratches.QUOTE(JakzT @ Oct 2 2009, 07:24 PM) IS's SP is made of different material than SGP's. it's more scratch resistant but makes the screen looks less clear/sharp. |

QUOTE(megatron007 @ Oct 5 2009, 04:51 PM) Siilver Taukeh in everyday usage, yes. hard case are for those who goes for the extreme. or in some way, being too afraid of dropping their iPhones. same case here conclusion silicone case better Added on October 5, 2009, 4:57 pm noted, but who is selling now?? most of them no stock or got "dispute"?? QUOTE(megatron007 @ Oct 5 2009, 06:33 PM) taukeh Siilver n gang2 Serpent is a good case overall. but the saggy issue and the hard rubber inner which is unable to protect certain parts of the chrome bezel (even being stretch to the limit & with the 'spine' on) totally puts me off.how about the serpeat case? soft rubber on the 1st intact to the phone than add on spiral fish bone type hard case for external QUOTE(Siilver @ Oct 5 2009, 07:04 PM) I would say EPIKcase is 1 of the best case I've used. The gripping is just nice, rubber is not too soft. Not too bulky either. i beg to differ. most of the hard cases in the market (Rebel, CapsuleNeo, iClear etc.) and even ones which merely protects the back part of the phone (SGP Ultra Thin) doesn't break upon impact due to drops. for the Griffin iClear case, used to dropped it on a tar road, picked it up, everything is still intact. what's left are just minor scratch marks on the case. mind you, those are not even dents. it's a pretty tough case i must say, but it's pretty bulky. (less bulky than Rebel though) I would honestly give it a 4.5/5 for this case. I wouldn't wanna comment much about plastic cases because I'm bias towards plastic cases due to the easyness to scratch and flimsiness of plastic cases. Once drop, your case will break into pieces. |
