2G cases are mostly obsolete. you can try your luck in Garage Sales.

try SwitchEasy Colors. variety if colors to choose from (RM78 @ Machines), or Speck PixelSkin, Marware Sportgrip etc. Colors is the most affordable among all.

nope. no signs of edges falling off except some slight yellowish which i think might be due to sweat. been using it for almost 3 months plus.

your phone is prone to scratches no matter what type of casing you use, if small particles managed to slip into the space between the case and your phone. that's what i've experienced with Rebel. even with such full protection case, the chrome bezel is still prone to small lil scratches.

Incase Slider is a nice one but i don't think it's available locally (or i haven't seen one around, yet).

when the edges start to peel off, try to use some water and apply on the edges and stick it back. do it before the edges start collecting dusts/particles. it worked in my case. been using it for almost 3 months plus.

or get a silicone case without taking off the shield.

for the SGP/IS/BG, the one you're requesting are those for the sides? i've used up mine.

yup, almost 98-99% of the phone as well.

err actually even when your iPhone is on any type of body shield (IS, BG, SGP), it will still fit into any sorts of silicone cases as those cases are quite flexible. tested on SE Colors and ones from Incipio.

both crystal clear/glossy SP and anti-glare/fingerprints has its own features and advantages. just choose one that suits u. they gave u both so that u get to choose, as simple as that.

Crystal Clear/Glossy: Clearer screen, fingerprints/smudge-prone

Anti-glare/Fingerprints: Less clearer screen (abit cloudy), more fingerprints/smudge-resistant

mirror ones are quite fingerprint/smudge-prone i must say. and you'll have to turn up the phone's brightness to near max to get better view of the screen. not to mention the poor sunlight legibility.

that's true for Rebel. had mine and sold it off after nearly a month of usage due to scratches made on my i3G's chrome bezel. i'm not too sure about Griffin Wave but you can try iClear. a pretty good case.

on another note, saw both Incipio DermaShot and Feather at Switch, Queensbay Mall today. unable to make my decision on which one to choose due to the SGP shield attached.

i do agree with bro PeeEl. hard cases somehow will end up scratching your beloved iPhones (once dusts and particles managed to slip into the small gap between the phone and the hard case) and they do add an amount of bulk. silicone cases do too but not to an extent of the hard cases. and silicone cases do provide a very good grip. and i mean very. unlike hard cases.

my take on silicone cases will be SwitchEasy Colors and Incipio DermaShot (getting one myself this coming weekend).

yes. hard cases do provide the drop protection. hence, in short. it's more like a give and take situation.

hard cases = drop protection but less grip and bulky.
silicone cases = less drop protection but more grip and less bulky.
body shields = zero drop protection (protect against scratches only), but zero bulk and offers grip.

if u did some search on reviews on CandyShell (try itsmemorpheus from YouTube), you'll find that it has some issues on the rubber edges where it tends to break up/split.

Incase Slider users do report on some scratches from the inside too. i guess most hard cases will. why not you opt for silicone cases such as SwitchEasy Colors or Incipio DermaShot? they're pretty good.

not using one currently but planning to get one. if you're in KL, try Machines stores. In you're in Penang, try the Switch store at Queensbay Mall.

BG & IS does provide lifetime warranty. however, it only applies to scratches.

just get one from SGP like what D-Zire suggested. spend more on quality ones rather than those cheapo RM5, 10 screen protectors. they get scratched up easily. been using SGP's for couple of months and still, zero scratches, not even hairlines.

my SwitchEasy's SP lasted me less than a month.

err they are quite prone to scratches i must say. i'm using the one that comes with SGP Shield, should be the crystal clear version.

i don't think there's ever any SP which is 100% resist to scratch. it's matter of where are they more/less prone to scratches.


IS's SP is made of different material than SGP's. it's more scratch resistant but makes the screen looks less clear/sharp.

in everyday usage, yes. hard case are for those who goes for the extreme. or in some way, being too afraid of dropping their iPhones.

Serpent is a good case overall. but the saggy issue and the hard rubber inner which is unable to protect certain parts of the chrome bezel (even being stretch to the limit & with the 'spine' on) totally puts me off.

i beg to differ. most of the hard cases in the market (Rebel, CapsuleNeo, iClear etc.) and even ones which merely protects the back part of the phone (SGP Ultra Thin) doesn't break upon impact due to drops. for the Griffin iClear case, used to dropped it on a tar road, picked it up, everything is still intact. what's left are just minor scratch marks on the case. mind you, those are not even dents. it's a pretty tough case i must say, but it's pretty bulky. (less bulky than Rebel though)
